    Unhappy Whats Wrong With This???
    Anyone had this problem or know how to solve it, {Other than rewriting feed fields...}
    I'm having trouble with this:-
    [WM-RECORD cols=2 WIDTH=486][WM-IF: (FIELD: BASECODE = 8800S) and (FIELD: NETWORK = ORANGE)]
    output nothing!!
    But this is OK:-
    [WM-RECORD cols=2 WIDTH=486][WM-IF: (FIELD: BASECODE = 8800) and (FIELD: NETWORK = ORANGE)]
    Outputs correctly!!

For this not to work would mean I would have to edit my daily feed... not very feasible

    Please help,
    Cheers Andy

Does the field "BASECODE" contain the value "8800S"?

    Yes....
    I have both values 8800 & 8800S
also found it is doing the same with 6230 & 6230I
Therefore I presume it will have the same problem with all values containing a character immediately after a numeric value...

Your help would be greatly appreciated

    completely confused
    This Works....
    [WM-RECORD cols=2 WIDTH=486][WM-IF: (FIELD: BASECODE contains K750I) and (FIELD: NETWORK = O2)]

    But This Doesn't...

    [WM-RECORD cols=2 WIDTH=486][WM-IF: (FIELD: BASECODE contains 8800S) and (FIELD: NETWORK = O2)]

Yes the values are there to be sought...

Please send me a zip archive via email at webmerge@fourthworld.com containing your settings file, the template, and a <2MB portion of your feed which includes both working and non-working records, and I'll see what I can do to resolve the mystery.

Thanks for sending that, Andy. I think I found the problem: the file is named with ".csv", and the delimiter is set to "," and the "Text values are in quotes" is set to true, but none apply to your feed.

The feed you sent is pipe-delimited ("|"), and text values are not quoted.

If you change the delimiter to | and turn off the "Text values are in quotes" I think you'll find WebMerge will parse the file reliably for you.

    Sorry for the trouble Richard,
I have tried as you suggested, unchecking the the 'text in quotes' box,
but this does not solve the problem.

It seems webmerge will not parse values in the 'BASECODE' field that contain a 'character' immediatley after 'numeric' value...

    These examples work....
    KE970
    K800I

    These examples don't work...
    8800S
    7100T

All my settings are exactly the same for all templates...
All Templates are exactly the same except for the value requested...

It would be helpful to both Richard and I if anyone else has had this problem,
or how it may be solved WITHOUT rewriting the values.

    Cheers Richard,
I know this may be a problem you may not have come across, but it is a vital issue for myself in order that i can generate my 'Site' using 'Webmerge'.

I appreciate your persistence. I think I discovered the source of the issue. I'll send you a solution via email -- which operating system are you running?
