Would you be Happy or Upset
Recently I posted an article on my site about a certain company, the article wasn't a negative or positive article, just talked about their earnings etc.

That company seems to be an avid PayPerPost.com advertiser and also liked my article a lot.

I found out last night that the company actually created an offer on PayPerPost.com that links to the article on my site, and literally were paying people 5 bucks to write about it and link to mysite, they asked for neutral post. I have about 100 odd incoming links for that specific article and the majority seem to be PayPerPost.com bloggers.

Would you be happy that a company advertised for you or upset that they didn't even tell you they did it?

As long as the links are coming from legitimate sources, and do not hurt my sites, I'd say go for it and advertise my site as much as you feel necessary...

Yeah I don't have a problem and am flattered, I just would of liked to have gotten a heads up.

I'd be way happy. :-) It's not costing you anything and hell, they're PAYING people to visit YOUR site - how can that be bad?
    Peace,

They should contact you first just to give you a heads up. Would be a shame if you didn't know about it and moved your post to a new URL or deleted it. Afterall they're paying for these links.

A heads up would be nice, but I'd be pretty happy to see the links coming in, so long as they were quality blogs and posts.

Yes, but it calls into question the author's credibility. I am sure HardwareGeek doesn't want to be associated or considered a payperpost type of reviewer, or one that takes money to endorse a product. As others might not realize it wasn't HWG idea to begin with and could say it was his idea.

    IMHO.

Well there you have it...now NG has given you a reason to be paranoid...

(let's just hope no one is out to get you, HWG. Imagine the damage they could do with PPP and a little bit 'o money)

I'd be happy to get lots of links as long as i wasn't penalized somehow for it. You've got a very informative site with great information. Maybe they have had some bad reviews in the past about them from other sources, and are trying to cover it & bury it in search rankings by trying to boost your pages rankings?

I would be spinning around in joy! 100 links you didn't have to hound after; jackpot!

Strange they'd pay to promote someone else's site, though. They must think your article is a pretty good reflection on them.

You have no right to be upset if you didn't tell them that you are posting an article about them.

and, why would you be upset for something positive?

Courtesy requires that they should have dropped you a note or something.
