    very BAAAD inactive affiliate email
Hi, I'm Jonathan Nunez. I've been a big fan of (one of misdonnas sites.com ) for years, and use it personally whenever I shop online. I am the affiliate manager for www.Stuffedark.com and I think we could have a mutually beneficial affiliate relationship. I see that you signed up and made sales for our program before, but are no longer earning commission's with us.

How dumb do you think I am?

    Hey Miss Donna,

Sorry about that, it was modeled after this thread's activation email example, but obviously not modified enough:

    http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=84095

(You may not have access, it's the affiliate manager forum).

Regardless, I apologize for the inconvenience and hope you accept my apologies.

Please send me an email to my address below if you do not want to receive recruiting emails from us.

    Thanks,

    Mike

I don't object to getting recruitment emails. I normally read them, but I rarely act on them. My objection is to the obviously dishonest claim that you're a fan of my website and use it when you shop online.

If you'll lie to me about that you'll lie to me about anything.

Agreed. Again, I apologize, and hope that you can forgive our mistake.

    Miss Donna,

I would just like to personally apologize and take responsibility for that e-mail. I was instructed to create a re-activation e-mail and send a draft to Michael to be approved. I remembered seeing the Reactivation E-mail Thread that was posted in Michael's first response to this thread, and I tried to model the beginning of it after that. After I made my version, I got a little bit too eager and started sending them out before Michael approved it. I shouldn't have copied the beginning sentences of that thread word for word and am very sorry I did not think that part through. I'm a very honest person and was not intentionally trying to lie. Please forgive me for my hastiness and know this will not happen again.

    Regards,

I think just about everyone missed the point of the example activation email. It's not a mail merge template, but an example. It's something that should be done one email at a time, and should be highly personalized based on what you know about the person and their site. Trust me, it's not just Jon. I've received similar emails from much more experienced OPMs than him.
