Hmmmm. This sounds like a GREAT write off.

But WHEN could it be? London in November sounds like no fun for me

London in July sounds like an excuse to go to the British Open too.

Geno, have you considered being a speaker or panel participant at one of the major internet marketing conferences around? IMHO you should - you have a lot of knowledge and expertise you could impart that would help a lot of people move forward with their efforts.

Plane fare and other costs are going to be THE determining factor as to whether I can get there or not (no, not making millions a month yet).. Want to sponsor me Geno!??

I'd absolutely love to visit though - it's on my life's to-do list!

London isn't generally more than traveling around the US... Just a longer flight

Glad I have a passport Adam (buytees) will love it if some of us finally go to *his* country...

I have (thank you for your support, WW!), and, in fact, I have already submitted proposals to two different 2007 conferences. We'll see if it works out.

OK, I'm in. How do I register. Couldn't see a link. I'd also like exhibitor/sponsor info, Shawn, if you could PM me with details and prices in real money (ie: Sterling not dollars).

I live 45 minutes south of London, so would love to meet up with anyone arriving early.

I know I'm going to regret saying this, but I have a three bedroom house, so have two spare rooms if anyone is tight on funds and can't afford the £100+ per night for a decent hotel in town. I'd prefer to offer a room to people I know well on this forum, though

We're putting together these pages right now - registration and sponsor details should be live by the end of the week.

And all pricing will be in Sterling only.

A few tips while in London

    From Airports to London
Heathrow – Tube to London (takes about 40mins)
or Heathrow Express to Paddington (15 – 20 mins)

    From Gatwick
Gatwick express train to (London) Victoria Train Station (busses and tubes & Taxis when you get there.

The Tube (Metro, underground) is very expensive, but if you travel after 9.30am you can buy a one day travel card which allows you to go on any buss or Tube (ask for a one day travel card zones 1 to 4) £5.70 after 9.30am and £9.00 before 9.30am.
    Kids go free.

Can some one let me know if I am allowed to post links to travel and tourist websites?

TheOriginaltour (double decker busses with a guide) hopp on and off for a fast tour of London, one is on the day price and the other is internet advanced price

    Adult
    Public price £19.00 -£17.50

    Child
    5-15 Years. Public price £12.00 -£11.00

    Family
    2 Adult / 3 Child. Public price £72.00-£60.00
Stops at all those places you have heard about, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Houses of parliament, Buckingham Palace, 10 Downing Street and so on.

Grab the boat at Westminster (westminster tube) pier and go to Greenwich, its about 40 mins. You pass The Tower of London and arrive at Great Little village with the Maritime Museum and of course is the home of Greenwich meantime. Fantastic bars, markets and shops and if you like Chinese food, cheap noodle restaurants are plentiful.

If you have a day my favourite all time tour to Hampton Court. You can go down the Thames to Henry V111 beautiful Palace. The Palace was a gift to Henry V111 from Cardinal Thomas Wolsey by way of appeasement. Its history is bloody, dramatic, and tragic with an emphasis on political and religious turmoil in British History. It’s where Anne Boleyn the wife of Henry V111, at just 14 years old, was reported to have run down the long cold stone corridors to Henry’s chamber when she heard the news, her husband was going to have her executed. Anne begged the King for her life, but was not spared.

QUEEN ANNE BOLEYN ON THE DAY OF HER EXECUTION
    FRIDAY, MAY 19, 1536
This morning she sent for me, that I might be with her at such time as she received the good Lord, to the intent I should hear her speak as touching her innocency alway to be clear. And in the writing of this she sent for me, and at my coming she said, "Mr. Kingston, I hear I shall not die afore noon, and I am very sorry therefore, for I thought to be dead by this time and past my pain ". I told her it should be no pain, it was so little. And then she said, "I heard say the executioner was very good, and I have a little neck", and then put her hands about it, laughing heartily. I have seen many men and also women executed, and that they have been in great sorrow, and to my knowledge this lady has much joy in death. Sir, her almoner is continually with her, and had been since two o'clock after midnight.
From a letter from Sir W. Kingston, Constable of the Tower, to Thomas Cromwell, May 19th, 1536. (spelling modernized)
The boat trip costs £12 return (advise you get a single ticket and take the train back to London, the train station is a five minute walk from Hampton Court) The boat will take you past a lot of London and beyond, you will negotiate locks and do the Journey that King Henry would have travelled back in the days of yore. It’s a long boat ride approx three hours. It has facilities onboard, tea, coffee and licensed bar (You may smoke but outside). You can pick the boat up from Westminster Pier.

London is steeped in History, every where you turn.

Some pubs now stay open 24 hours, the clubs are expensive and open at around 8pm and close at around 4pm depending which club you go to. I would advise you use black cabs rather then mini cabs unless your hotel has called you a mini cab.

Museums are free, three of the main museums Victoria & Albert, Natural History and Science Museum are located in South Kensington. The British Museum is located at Russel Square.

Smoking will be banned from all public places like restaurants and Pubs, but… a lot of the pubs have now invested in canopies and outdoor heaters to accommodate.

    Any questions, just ask
