Question percent of sale vs. cost per acquisition
    Hi Guys,

As an email publisher who also has an email affiliate network, I've found that the merchants I work best with are the ones who best know how to monetize a customer over the customer's lifetime.

I prefer doing cpa over cps or percent of sale because it boils down to higher payouts. The advertisers I work most with are the ones who know the lifetime value of a customer and don't just want to give me a piece of a singular event at the front end of the customer-merchant relationship.

    What are your thoughts?

    Best,

I much prefer a percentage of the sale. In my sector, I almost always come out ahead.

I thought both CPS and CPA have a place.

In some cases, CPS does not make sense. In other cases CPA does not make sense. Where both make sense, it all boils down to payouts and EPCs. I don't seem to have a preference to one over the other. Though most merchants we work with offer CPS only!. And if you want to work with a variety of merchants, you will have to accept CPS terms also.

The above comments may not be applicable to email marketers, perhaps?.

    Smile thanks redtagdeals
Hi Redtagdeals, yeah the stuff I've written about CPA vs CPS may be more applicable to email marketers than it is to other types of affiliates...

All I know is what has worked for us in email in the past...

    best,
    Pete
