Man, after our service went down for two hours yesterday, I've been wondering what's up with Vonage. Any news on existing customers?

From the news report on CNN, Vonage's service will continue to operate for existing customers, but they've been ordered by a court to stop signing up new customers. We'll see how this pans out. But yes, HGeek is correct: every affiliate promoting Vonage should take down their links at this point because no new customers will be able to buy/join Vonage's service right now. Vonage is apparently appealing the decision.

    Here's the story:

    http://money.cnn.com/2007/04/06/tech...ex.htm?cnn=yes

BUT, it seems Vonage IS still doing sign-ups. I started the sign-up process to see, and went through it with no problems, up to putting in personal info (where I stopped). But it let me select location, area code, equipment, etc. with no problem.

It could be because the article says that the Judge's Order won't be signed until next week.

Good job digging, AffiliateHound (no pun intended ). I'd still be wary of any new signups from today on, as to whether Vonage will end up paying commissions out for them. Might be better safe than sorry and pull your links until more information is provided by Vonage. I don't partner with them; has anyone been in touch with a Vonage affiliate manager today?

Will this impact other VoIP providers or only Vonage?

What patents did Vonage violate. Appreciate any further info on this.

Vonage has gotten a stay of the order announced yesterday, and can continue to operate normally. Verizon has a week to file a response and then a hearing will be held to determine if the stay will continue until the appeal is decided, which will take several months.

    Hello,

This is an important message from Performics regarding the recent events unfolding at Vonage. You may be aware that Vonage is currently engaged in litigation with Verizon.

Vonage informed us today that there is no change to the business and affiliates should continue to stay the course. According to a spokesman for Vonage, all orders will be paid for and all links should remain live.

Performics understands your concerns and will keep you informed with further information as it becomes available.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation,

    Your Performics Vonage Affiliate Team

But there is no gurantee they can sign up people after next week.

I think we sould all be concerned and begin to pull back slowly on our PPC programs ifwe are running any and any vonage pages we are creating scale back.

Vonage changes terms on CJ to 0.00 payouts, or were they planning on closing the cj program?

Yes but are they moving to just performics or is this because of the injunction?

Good question, but they are currently still active on some other CPA networks.

    Not Surprised
I'm not surprised Vonage are scaling back. Too many firms want to introduce the "pay a monthly fee" service when you can use VoiP for nothing and pay low worldwide call charges to non VoiP numbers.

The program I resell supplies exactly the same sort of equipment if a customer wants it and a PC software too. Signup is free and you can use it straight away just like Skype.

Doesn't make me much money as everyone makes sure they get their friends to use the system too but I don't even have to PPC to attract customers as the organic listings for the last year have been good.

What astonishes me about the schemes that are available is either the poor admin from the merchant or the very low commssions that can be obtained.

I get 10% on all paid calls worldwide for the lifetime of the customer.

Just got off the phone with Vonage, asked him about their affiliate programs if their going to close them down or just stick with performics.

Their PR guy said he was unsure but he would ask marketing and marketing would get back t me on the question, as soon as they do I'll let you guys know.
