    Best Movie 1 Liners
"A poll of 1,000 comedians, industry figures and film fans by Sky Movies Comedy."

That's a satellite pay-for-view channel in the UK - though you might like to see these:

    1) "Infamy! Infamy! They've all got it in for me!" Kenneth Williams as Julius Caesar – Carry on Cleo (1964)

    2) "He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy." Terry Jones as Brian's mother - Life Of Brian (1979)

    3) "I am serious, and don't call me Shirley." Leslie Nielsen as Dr Rumack - Airplane! (1980)

    4) "Remember you're fighting for this woman's honour, which is probably more than she ever did." Groucho Marx as Rufus T Firefly - Duck Soup (1933)

    5) "Don't knock masturbation. It's sex with someone I love." Woody Allen as Alvy Singer - Annie Hall (1977)

    6) "Do you have a licence for your minkey?" Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau - The Return of the Pink Panther (1975)

    7) "Is that, is that hair gel?" Cameron Diaz as Mary Jensen - There's Something About Mary (1998)

    8) "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here. This is the War Room." Peter Sellers as President Merkin Muffley - Dr Strangelove (1963)

    9) "Nice beaver! Thank you. I just had it stuffed." Leslie Nielsen as Lt Frank Drebin and Priscilla Presley as Jane Spencer - The Naked Gun (1988)

    10) "When I met Mary I got that old-fashioned romantic feeling where I'd do anything to bone her." Jim Carrey as Lloyd Christmas - Dumb and Dumber (1994)

My favourite isn't quite a one-liner as such, it's also from the Life of Brian:

Brian's Mum: What star sign is he?

    Wise Man: Uh, Capricorn.

Brian's Mum: Capricorn, eh? What are they like?

Wise man: Ooh, but... he is the son of God, our Messiah, King of the Jews.

Brian's Mum: And that's Capricorn, is it?

    Anyone else got other favourites?

This is one of my all time favorites from the final court room scene in A Few Good Men.

    Tom Cruise to Jack Nicholson:
"I'm not your son..I'm a lawyer and an officer in the United States Navy and you're under arrest you sonofa*****..."

Another favorite from the TV show MASH.

Hawkeye says to Radar who is standing in the middle of the compound looking up to the sky with his mouth wide open:
"Radar, you sun tanning your tonsils?"

    Joey

"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" a line from the 1939 film Gone with the Wind starring Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh. [ frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn ]

My all time three favorite movie lines have to be taken in context of the movies they're in. If you haven't seen "Moonstruck" and "Big Night" you have to rent them. Very funny movies about Italian-American culture and "Big Night" is a foodie's delight.

    "I'm so confused." -- Moonstruck

"Snap out of it!" -- Moonstruck

"My mother was a terrible cook." -- Big Night

"Put that coffee down! Coffee is for closers!" Glengarry Glen Ross
"Probably some local fisherman, out for a pleasure cruise, at night... in... eel-infested waters..." Princess Bride
"Badges? We don't need no stinking badges." Blazing Saddles
"Come out to the coast, we'll get together, have a few laughs..." Die Hard
"I know I promised, Lord, never again. But I also know that YOU know what a weak-willed person I am." Ladyhake (could also be used for some of the loyalty programs we know out there)
"Aristotle was not Belgian, the principle of Buddhism is not "every man for himself", and the London Underground is not a political movement. Those are all mistakes, Otto. I looked them up." Fish Called Wanda

wow.. I have only seen two of these movies.

Been hooked on South Park and although it's not a movie, some of their one lines are out of this world.

    Here is one:
Politics and crime are the same thing. - Godfather: Part III

"Charlie don't surf!"- Robert Duvall in Apocalypse Now
I always thought the line was "Charlie don't serve", meaning that Charlie (the Vietcong) doesn't control the action.

Personally, "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" . OK, it's not funny, but it is a really great line.

Following up on Angel's, and since I love the Princess Bride:

"Inconceivable"... ""You keep using that word... I do not think it means what you think it means..."

Edit: Oh jeez! The best one liner from that movie:

"Hallo! My name is Inyigo Montoya... You killed my father... Prepare to die."

One of the all-time great lines, but it was said by Strother Martin to Paul Newman.

thought that line came just before Paul was shot, thinking he could talk his way out of the hide out????

looks like we are both right ;-)

The captain isn't the only one who utters the words. Later in the movie, the main character, Luke (Paul Newman), still cocky despite being cornered by prison guards, openly mocks the Captain with the famous line.

One of my all time favorite lines. Of course, that's from the books and isn't in the movie. The movie also did not contain my favorite line from all the books:

(From the airlock scene) Arthur: "It's at times like this... I really wish I'd listened to what my mother told me when I was young."
Ford: "Why, what did she tell you?"
    Arthur: "I don't know, I didn't listen."
