    protected vs. non-compete keywords?
    Can someone remind me what the difference is between a 'protected' keyword and a 'non-compete' keyword?

    thanks

    One thing I would add to that discussion is that sometimes it seems to vary from merchant to merchant in terms of what the definitions are.

    Breakin' it down...
    My understanding is that with "protected" keywords you are not allowed to bid on them. "Non-compete" keywords are where you cannot outbid the merchant on. In order words, your ads cannot rank higher then the merchant.

    Always best to just ask the merchant for clarification. Revoked commissions can cost you dearly in the PPC game.
