ABW,

The cutoff selection for delegates is tonight (midnight) eastern standard time.

I will be traveling to Santa Barbara tomorrow and speaking at CJU so I will probably not be available to answer all of your e-mails and requests nor post or read posts here. Please be patient. This meeting has greatly increased the pull on my own personal resources and I still have responsabilities and business that I must attend to.

Once delegate selection is complete please contact me via e-mail and I will coordinate with the delegates via phone. Would-Be-Delegates in the meantime please do not delay in passing the word out on opinion papers. I would also suggest contacting other board members and community leaders to ask their communities to participate.

By mid-next week I will have a speaker and attendance list and a very detailed agenda. I am getting some assistance with drafting that too.

IN ADDITION- I will also be taking questions that the affiliate and developer community at large would like for me to ask on their behalf at the meeting.

I will summarize all questions from all parties and present a summary of them to network representatives. Send your questions to wayne @ afftrack.com with the subject line : Questions for Meeting or send them to your delegates who can present them to me. Please make them brief, pertinent and professional. I will ensure they are summarized and then read by the networks.

These questions are designed to provoke thought from the network leaders and should be questions that you would want them to weigh when considering this issue.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. If anyone is going to CJU this week please feel free to contact me there.

    Respectfully,

    -Wayne

Where will the meeting be held?

I've heard LS offices and the Yale Club.

Will someone take minutes of the meeting? I'm sure We all would like to be flys on the wall.

    Is the media allowed?

    Dave,

Minutes- not finalized yet. I don't do minutes or windows. I am finalizing someone to help with assisting with the meeting. Perhaps we can record it via tape. There will be an open session for delegates and presenters and a closed section following that with the networks to digest the information and form their policies- I will facilitate that as well.

I don't look for an immedate decision as I am sure all proposals will have to go through the networks legal department. I expect decisions to be announced the week after the meeting.

As for media- yes there are slots allocated for observers.

A finalized agenda is coming. Please be patient. I haven't had much time to prepare for this and there are so many interests and people involved as well as communication I have had to handle that it has taken longer then I expected.

Just one quick question Wayne why do the networks need a closed section?

I thought this meeting was to get things into the open???

Because they are formulating policy that is key to their business too. I imagine they could have things to discuss things that are sensitive and network-only issues.

Their are two sessions. One open and one private. The networks are private businesses and intense competitors they can be allowed to have some discussions behind closed doors.

It is difficult enough to get them all to sit down and the real challenge is to get them to agree. The goal is to get their leaders to talk freely and without interruption to digest and discuss the information as they formulate policy.

This is perfectly valid and acceptable. Remember the original goal was to get the networks to sit down and talk. That is the absolute core of this meeting and that is the goal I am shooting to meet. The outcome is up to the networks.

I'm sorry but I just want to make sure that I understand this. No flaming here at all.

When you say networks, you are meaning what or actually who? Could you list the networks that you are talking about? Thanks Wayne!

    Sorry Patrick.

I am referring to BeFree, CJ, Linkshare, and Performics. The four most prolific affiliate and performance based ad networks.

    Thanks Wayne,

I was hoping thats what you were talking about. I was a little worried that perhaps the meeting would be closed but that morpheus and who ever else decides to attend would be allowed in the closed doors meeting.

I personally have no problem with that as long as all the time needed to make points is given before the meeting takes place.

Last but not least I was hoping perhaps there would be oher networks in the closed door meetings. Share a Sale and so on. Any chance of others showing up and being allowed in the closed doors? Thanks again Wayne!
