    Smile Couple Questions......
Hello everyone, I have a few questions if that's okay.

First, could anyone tell me their experience with 1 shopping cart .com (how well do you rate them for using their affiliate system)

    Second, Could people suggest

-Places to link my affiliate program (free)

Finally, I have affiliates that sign up, but never implement the program.

to help this I have started a newsletter with updates/links/suggestions

what else can I do? How well do incentive commissions do? Other suggestions?

Thanks for your time, I really appreciate the help. I am willing to put in the time and work if someone can point me in the vague directions.

    Valerie

Would this fit better in the becoming a merchant forum?

Been away, now I'm back. Not as much, but I'm back & starting from scratch. Where I was, was fantastic. Where I am now, less so. Things have changed, become harder. So have I. Game ON!!!

All you need to do is click that Search button above and read, read, read!

Put in a few hours a day, take notes, get ideas, read more. Then, ask questions.

Just do the research (emphasis on Search) before asking questions.

BTW, the "Becoming a Merchant" part of the forum itself is a good place to start reading.

    Hey Valerie,

In addition to searching this forum (an invaluable resource!) I highly recommend Geno's A Practical Guide To Affiliate Marketing. Having bought the book myself, I'll attest to it's value. It doesn't cost much (especially considering what you're getting), and it goes into just about everything you're asking (and more!).

Great! I found the book last night in my searches! Definitly something I'll check out! This place is huge! I'm already collecting so many good tips! I especially like the threads where people ask affiliates what they hate about affiliate programs! Invaluable!

Smile A question about Data Feeds
Okay, sorry I have another question. My affiliate program is hosted with 1shoppingcart.com, and so far from the looks of things they don't offer the ability to create datafeeds. (It wasn't in the description of things they offer, and they haven't responded to my inquiry yet....maybe they do but I haven't heard back)

I'm still a bit new to the process, but I'd like to offer my affiliates the oppurtuinty to have updated content on their site because we add about 2 products a month that are seasonally dependent....(mother's day cards, ect.....)

Right now I use an affiliate newsletter, but In know if I make it easier for people to always have fresh content, they're more likely to promote current products (my assumptions only)

Is there another way that I can do this? FREE?

Thanks for any help, or links to the other forum topics, I really appreciate it if anyone knows,

    God Bless,

    Valerie

Sure, if you know programming you can pull the info from your database and compile it into a feed format. Or, if not, hire someone to write you a little script.

Keep in mind that, as formatted in your db, the links won't have tracking attached. That has to be added in seperately. If you go on a network, they should handle that part for you. But if you're indy, you're probably stuck doing it yourself.

    FREE?
    Start typing!

I do mine manually, but there's less than 30 products in it. So, not a big deal.

Then I upload it to SAS and they do all the "heavy lifting" (making the links into tracking links, getting it into the make-a-page, making it available to affs, etc.)
