    Friends,

Here are the promised Venice (and one Verona) pics...

Rexanne, we loved Italy!! Zeus, thanks for recommending the right hotel for the event!

    IN VENICE

    IN VERONA

Once again, thank you, everyone who took part in the "Anyone Been to Venice?" thread. Thank you for your feedback and recommendations!! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip (in many ways, because of you and your posts in that thread)!

    Thanks,

    Geno

Love these "beautiful family" photos! Looks like a good time was had by all.

So happy you enjoyed Venice, Geno. It is one of my favorite places on earth. So amazing and awe-inspiring.
    Peace,

    Beautiful pictures, Geno!
I can tell the Piazza San Marco was dry and I'm sure the location of the Danieli was great for a short stay.

Thanks, Joey, and thanks, Rexanne. Yeah... We had a wonderful time together... The girls loved the pack-the-suitcases-we're-going-to-Venice surprise/gift. ...and, of course, they loved Venice and Italy...

    Thanks,

    Geno

Yes, it was dry and beautiful... Danieli looked like the Hermitage Museum to us (my wife and my daughter are native St. Petersburgians, remember? ). Thanks again, Zeus!

To be honest with you, ..........................no. We expected much more of Italian cuisine. We love it and my wife cooks Italian at home quite often. We also visit Italian restaurants often, and those that are outside of Italy (Russian, U.K., USA, etc) are so much better than anything that we had in Venice ...I cannot even start comparing.

We loved our pizza in Verona though. Excellent freshly made pizza, and my favorite Moretti beer.

You certainly can tell you have a Daddy's Girl there.

I'm glad you had a great trip and that they were so surprised.

I didn't say anything before but I feel the same. The best Italian Chefs are all working abroad. Never had a great culinary experience in Italy especially in or around Venice. I've some good memories of Tuscany.

Ok. Now I feel better... I thought it is just me (spoiled by my wife's marvelous cooking). Seriously.
