    Problems with XSite Pro Anyone
I build sites using many different ways from scratch to using software packages. I have a few using XSite Pro but have found that if the site gets too big eg 1200 pages plus the software really struggles with it and it can lock the program completly, I wondered if anyone has come across this or found a way to avoid it. (apart from just not using xsite pro).

I have my own problems with XSite Pro. I mainly have problems with the WYSIWYG
being I can't get fonts and columns to appear right. So what I see isn't what I get.
Many times, in order for it to look the way it should in the browsers, I have to make it
look distorted in XSite Pro's own preview.

I was so frustrated that I stopped using the program.

$5 says that someone with less than 20 posts will come along any minute now and drop a link with a whole new solution, along with a pre-typed testimonial.

Xsitepro does make some nice sites from what I have seen - the graphics on the sample sites are nice. The price is comparable to FP. I am getting into PHP hand coded sites now.

How is Dreamweaver working out Rhia7 ?

I haven't heard of Xsitepro but this might be an opportunity to enlighten me

Right now I'm using Dreamweaver MX -- it's okay

    How does Xsitepro differ?

Just out of curiosity I found this review for anyone who is thinking of buying/using XsitePro.

I know the original poster would like a way to use the software while avoiding certain problems. The above review enumerates some of the problems and offers alternative software [ i.e. some open source examples].

I think the biggest problem with XsitePro is the "cookie cutter effect."

After reading this review and some others I don't think I'll rush out to buy XsitePro but a Google search might help the original poster since there's about 189,000 hits on the topic.

I have not used XsitePro. The graphics on the sample sites are nice. I am wondering if the XsitePro package includes graphics software - that would be a big plus. Either way, I probably won't be running out to get it since as I said, I am trying to design more at the code level now and am using a lot of non-html pages, scripts, and server-side includes.

Sorry, my bad. It's just this forum gets its share of spammy posts. However, the moderators do a great job of grabbing them before it's a problem. I should just sit back and let them do their job since they do it so well.

Welcome to ABW. Enjoy and look around.
