    Dating Conversion Rates
I've been fiddling with the dating industry a bit and I am trying to figure out what is the average conversion rate on good traffic. I seem to get relatively a lot of registrations but conversions are pretty poor (not all programs pay or even report on registrations).

Another question I had in mind is if it is a good decision to promote the big ones first (match, date.com) or perhaps the smaller once since the big ones are probably already getting saturated.

i wonder how you came up with that conclusion. not to suggest either way... but... complaining on lack of conversion is one thing, complaining on lack of reporting is another.

I meant profile sign ups. Not paid registrations.

some dating sites are quirky in that people don't see the cost until they fill out the profile, so that could be part of it.
another reason could be that people complete the profiles, and realize that site isn't for them?
If you're going organic(or paid for that matter), i've found its best to start with small sites that aren't being promoted by every tom dick & harry, so it's easier to gain high rankings... then once you find something that works, try that on the progressively larger merchants.

    Just my 2 cents.

Or build out a portal and a ping tree and post to the highest bidder first.
