Who do I have to report this to
A few weeks ago I posted a thread about an affiliate who was using my domain name registration info to apply for so many programs, i just received a call from an affiliate manager neededing him to confirm his payment details.

Who and where can I report him to, because this affiliate manager may have more information for me now.

I sent an email to the ISP but got nothing, do I go to the police or who do I go to now.

Provide the AM with your payment info and let him send you the checks.

If you can't beat 'em, take their !

In a way, that's a form of identify theft. It's a damaging thing to do.

Webworker, which instance do you think would be considered fraud? The original misuse of the domain registration or my suggestion to take the money and run? Or both?

The identity-stealing affiliate will change the address before the first check goes out.

    Email the networks.

I have emailed LS whenever I know somebody is using a bogus application and they zap the account.

I really don't understand why you are hesitating to go to the police.

This is wrong, flat out fraud. Tell the networks, Affiliate Manager, and Police.

No, I would not take the money and run. In no way do you want to encourage any confusion between you and this person. You have no idea what he may be doing elsewhere.

The problem with going to the "police" is the question of jurisdiction. The proper police agency would be the one where the offense occurred, and how would you determine that? Since this involves interstate commmerce, the correct agency to whom a criminal complaint should be made would most likely be the FBI.

be careful, you might zap the actual owner, and leave the bogus person to roam freely.

If you know what the site they are using is, do the following:

    screenshot all relevant pages
    screenshot the whois.sc info
send a C & D to domain registrant, the technical contact of the site and the owner
    report the domain to register.com

This is generally for when people hijack your site...but, it doesn't hurt.
