    Anyone else get Drafted by Hilo Hatte
    I just got my third "Welcome Aboard" approval from Hilo Hatte. I never signed up for this program. The funny thing is they did this on two other channels of mine in the past and I ignored it. Then they dropped me for inactivity.

    Why do merchants do this? To what end?

    Here was part of my response and a copy to LS support;

    I did not apply to this program, I was somehow slammed into it. This isn't the first time this has happened. I was involuntarily pushed into this program on 2 other channels. I never posted any links and was dropped by the merchant for inactivity.

    I will not promote any merchant that uses these types of tactics to recruit affiliates, nor any merchant that allows parasitic affiliates into their program. This is nothing more than circumventing established recruiting guidelines and I believe it to be against the Linkshare TOS.

    Caught me in a bad mood today....... lol

    if you ask me, it might be a bug in LS's system.

    one should not be getting into any program with the affiliate saying "Yes, I would like to join"

    Eric, you always have all the answers, don't you? It's no bug in Linkshare's system. It's been reported here before with other merchants and I've had it happen as well.

    Hilo Hattie is just a mess of an affiliate program.

    Quick Question Snowman.

    How does a merchant have an affiliate join without their acknowledgement?

    Per Mack "I never signed up for this program." and yes, I have seen posting before with other Linkshare merchants when it comes to this.

    Sorry, I was trying to help and I do not have the answer to all the questions. Personally, I am still identify who is the "First Mover".

    I have no idea. I just know that I have received an approval email from a Linkshare merchant that I hadn't applied to. You frequently refer to your Linkshare contacts, so ask them.
