It sounds gross but in reality (germ wise) it's not all that bad.. I've read that office keyboards harbor more germs than the average public toilet.

Still the thought of someone spilling their gravy on my mashed potatoes will never be the same.

Now, I wouldn't dare to say anything anti-Swedish here. Except it doesn't really suprise me.. the Swedes I work with have the same strange attitude, i.e. they have a clever shortcut and they'd like everyone to know, including the customers. At least in the UK we wouldn't show the customer what we were doing

I think the story, though, that most affected me was from years ago, an announcement that the U.S. Postal Service had change the formula for their glue, because cockroaches liked to eat the old glue off the back of stamps.

My mind immediately wandered back to the last time I licked a stamp that didn't seem to have enough stickiness on it, and I simulated a dry heave right then and there.

I've been oh so grateful that they have since come out with peel and stick stamps!

    *a great idea*

Talking of cockroaches, I was having a meal with my parents here in Tenerife a few years back in a restaurant in Los Gigantes (for anyone who knows the island). We had a bowl of potatoes with our meal. As I picked up one of the last potatoes in the bowl, I noticed some legs moving. Then a body. Yes a cockroach - not even dead - had been served up with our potatoes. The waiter took one look at it and took our bowl away. No replacement potatoes, no apology, no reduction in bill.
