I'm a bit slow today after being up most of the night waiting for news from England about our eldest daughter.

She just gave birth to a daughter, our 2nd grandchild. She had to have a ceasarean but from what we gather she is doing ok.

Why do women allways give birth at stupid hours?

Congrats Gordon, and congrats to your daughter too!

The birth doesn't happen until the BABY is ready! So the question really is, "how come babies like to be born in the middle of the night?!"

They probably just want to be awake at a right and proper hour (ie, the middle of the night!) at least once in their lives...

Of course, if they grow up to be webmasters, they can be up all night EVERY night, and people will give up on trying to comment against it eventually!

All the best to you daughter and her family. Be sure to post pics when available. And I hope I don't see the baby holding a fish stick instead of a rattler.

    Congratulations Gordon...

When I was a very young man, working as a share-cropper's kid, one of the other kids who worked this farm had a baby. The mother was only 16, and came to visit my Grandmother (the matriarch of all that farm) to cry on her shoulder.

My grandmother was her small gentle-self, and told the young girl, "Listen child, the first baby comes at any time - the second one takes 9 months."

I have no clue however why they come in the middle of the night.

Thanks you guys, as soon as we get a pic I will post it. It seems like our daughter will be in hostpital for a good few days yet so it might take a week or so to get the picture.

Am I ever going to live this fish sticks business down?
