    Two Big Dumb Questions!
    1. When code is generated at LinkShare it says;
    Code for Link (Textual) - This code must be placed on your site exactly as it appears.
    <a href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=REMOVED&offerid=112958.10000083&type=3&subid=0" >Furniture&nbsp;sale&nbsp;at&nbsp;Charles&nbsp;Keath&nbsp;Home</a> <IMG border=0 width=1 height=1 src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=REMOVED&bids=112958.10000083&type=3&subid=0" >
    Why do we need the code I have highlighted in red? And what happens if we dont include it?

    2. Also I read in another form that we should use NO FOLLOW IN OUR affiliate links, whats the poop on this? And how is this coded?

    The code you highlighted is to allow linkshare to see how often a page with that link is displayed.

    It assists in tracking and statistics.

    As far as I know you will still get credit for a sale if you leave it out.

    The rel="nofollow" attribute is an instruction to search engines not to follow a link.

    not dumb at all.

    1. counts the impressions.

    2. I think you'll find eventually that this was the result of someone misinterpreting a Google employee's post in his blog.

    Yes, one that I've went over and over again but yet he still posts that nonsense for some reason. You don't need it.
