May 17th, 2007, 06:37 PM #1I made a sale today!
I finished my website and started advertising today and made a sale. I was so excited!
May 17th, 2007, 06:41 PM #2By the way...what does this mean on the last URL clicked?
Does this mean that this was from a Google ad or what exactly does this mean.
I guess I need some pointers about where my sales came from.

That is a code that Google appends to the URL.
Use the "&afftrack=" parameter in your SAS links to track the links your clicks/sales come from.
Congrats on your first affiliate sale. I danced around the house when I made mine. Now onward to your first $100 day. You are on the right network.

Good work! As UncleScooter said, use the afftrack variable. Try setting your site up so you can pass a variable from each keyword, then pass the variable to SAS via the afftrack variable. This way you can track the individual keyword that generated the sale (and weed out the keywords that don't convert)...

bluewaves, congratulations and best of luck with the future ones!!
It is SO important to be rewarded for what you do, and you are truly blessed to have that sale roll in so fast. Others wait for weeks or even months...

Say I have just 3 keywords. Oddly enough they're:
I assign them each unique IDs for Google and Yahoo.
keyword one = g1 & y1
keyword two = g2 & y2
keyword three = g3 & y3
When I link to my site from Google I assign a URL specific to each.
keyword one = http://www.domain.com/?k=g1
When the visitor hits my site the k variable is captured and later inserted into the Shareasale link.
Then when a sale comes into my Shareasale account I see g1 and know that sale came from my bid on "keyword one" on Google. o3 would be "keyword three" on Overture.
---edit--- Oops, that should have read "y3 would be "keyword three" on Yahoo." I still of think of Yahoo Search Marketing as Overture... ---end edit---
Hope that helps. As for how to capture and pass the variables, that's up to you.
Also, if you're using Googgle Analytics and your system expects variables, you may want to turn off the thing where Google attaches their own arbitrary variables to your outbound traffic. They sent us a ton 500 errors when they started that annoying little trick...

I was just reading these old posts. Three years later and I'm making a full time living on the net. I never would have thought so.
