    Curlin Upsets Street Sense
    Another fabulous race!

Curlin by a nose at the wire over Street Sense to win the Preakness.

Street Sense made his move too early, and Curlin, with a great ride from Robby Albarado, overtook him.

After he made his move, Street Sense didn't get out far enough in front, and Curlin had more left at the end to overtake him. It takes a lot out of a horse to squeeze through on the rail like Street Sense does, and even though it was a shorter field than in the Debry, the longer race was too much for him to keep his lead at the end.

But, yea, what a great race!

It wasn't a longer race it was shorter, Borel said his horse was distracted by the crowd, he was surprised after he passed him that he could catch up.

Happens all the time, the leader gets over confidant.

He also kept him off the rail because the track was dead there the best spot was 4 wide, it was deeper but faster, Curlin was a 3.5 Million dollar baby.

The thing that I see is Curlin will mature and improve which means he may get a lot better if that's possible? This was only his 5th lifetime start.

Of course: Derby 1-1/4, Preakness 1-3/16. Belmont is the looong race at 1-1/2.

Right on about Curlin - the Derby is the only race he didn't win.

If Street Sense, Curlin, Hard Spun, Circular Quay, King of the Roxy, even the early speed today, Xchanger, are all healthy, the Belmont figures to be really something, even with just 6 or 7 horses running.
