    Someone From CafePress Please Clarify
Could you please clarify the instructions on your page at http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/aff.../bestpractices

I am assuming I can build my own links as shown by appending my CJ link with the marketplace destination as shown.

At the bottom of this page it states "Before directing traffic to a CafePress shop, be sure the shop is opted in to receive affiliate sales. You can verify this by ensuring the products sold in the shop are also available in the CafePress marketplace." HOW DO I VERIFY?

Also, can I link to an individual store within a shop?

Suggestion: Have an affiliate not familiar with your program try to follow your instructional page and modify it as needed.

I can answer a couple of questions, just in case no one from CP hears your cry for help.

As with most CJ merchants you can append a URL to an affiliate link. So if you wanted to link to a specific shop, this is how you'd do it:

    http://www.XXXXXXXX.com/click-YYYYYY....com/ZZZZZZZZ/

    (X = CJ domain, Y = your PID, Z = cafepress shop name)

All you have to do is add ?url=http://www.cafepress.com/ZZZZZZZZ to the end of a CJ generated link for CP. Same scheme if you want to link within a shop to a section, design, or product.

You can also link to a search term if you want to change a banner ad so it directs to a different page. (Highly recommended by me!)

    http://www.XXXXXXXX.com/click-YYYYYY...m/buy/AAAAAAAA

    (A = search term)

CP shopkeepers are automatically opted-in to the affiliate program. They can however opt-out, in which case their designs are removed from the marketplace. Therefore, if you look for products in the marketplace you'll find only opted-in designs/products/shops. The only problem is that it's not possible to search for designs by shop name unless the shopkeeper tagged their designs with their shop name -- and most don't.

    Here's a link to the marketplace http://www.cafepress.com/cp/browse/allproducts.aspx

    HTH.

PS: I have shops featuring the following design types: pets/animals, sports, birthdays, food & cooking. If anyone is interested in affiliating with my shops just shoot me a PM and I'll give you the shop names. Muchos!

There's a cool third party tool to help you make links. It's at:

    http://www.blogacow.com/CPMakeALink

And.... There's a great tool you can add as a bookmark to make links from CP products, sections, or stores. It's at:

    http://tools.myjgd.com/ap-link-cj.php

Hope this helps you. I've used a version of both these tools quite a bit with the old CP affiliate program, and they were super. They've been updated to work with the new CJ program.
