All,

As a follow up to the "How often do you check your reports" poll listed Here, I;d like to ask which are the programs you check (eg CJ, Clickbank, clubmom, escripts etc).

Yes, there is *real* reason for the question

I like to check at least every couple of hours on performics.

I don't check nearly as frequent on the rest who
have a time associated with transactions. Not showing a basic thing like time of sale associated with a transaction doesn't add much to my concept of trust!

I check CJ a couple of times a day.

CJ--Countless times/day!

Performics--Couple of times a day.

An Independent--about 5 times/day.

Share-a-Sale--Weekly or less. That should change once certain things get listed in the SEs and there is a chance of the figure there actually changing.

BeFree--Every 6 months or so and probably won't bother anymore at all, now that I kicked off that OverSure search box that would have made me $25 by my 80th birthday (that was the only BF program I had)!

CJ as I go along, anywhere from 2 to 10 times a day.

LS, BF, Performics, SAS once or twice a day.

Independents vary. Though for one particular "in-house" program I must check daily to make sure they did not hit me again with reversal amounts that exceed amounts that I was credited with in the first place. I have enough bills to pay.

What would really help affiliates be more productive would be to just update the money stats once a day, but still update the traffic stats so we can check them more than once a day.
I just checking reporting.net once a day becuase that's all tiger updates, that way I wouldn't be checking CJ every 15 minutes, hehe, would save them some bandwidth.

No.... What would really help would be a sales messenger add on that affiliates could run and customize to play varying sounds on varying commission levels.

IE:
Commisions < than $1 would be ignored!
Commisions >= $1 and <= $3 would go "Boink"!
Commisions >$3 and <=$5 would go "Ding"
Commisisons over $5 would "ka Ching Ka Ching".

Of course, each affiliate gets to customize his her theshold settings and sounds associated with them.

The notification tool for AffiliateSalesAlert(™)
would also send a text message along with the
notification that specified who the sale was from and for how much.

The bandwidth savings for networks would likely be substantial and affiliates would love it.

The program should have two methods of delivery for affiliates using it.

1) Immediate notification
2) Allow users to opt that sales information could be forwarded to their mailbox when an immediate message can't be fullfilled and they are offline.

I'll develop the AffiliateSalesAlert(™) interface and notification code for a fee if the networks would buy off on this. .

All rights are reserved for the AffiliateSalesAlert(™) program.

Let's hear it - who wants it?

Getting on this bandwagon quick

affiliatepager (tm)

works with a standard pager emits your choice of text message, beeps & sounds or vibration when a transaction takes place.

See also:

Coming soon is the affiliate manager stinger (tm). Emits an electrical shock into your favorite affiliate manager whenever a transaction doesn't track or whenever things just get plain slow.

Has various settings for level of offense

1. Light shock for when things are just slow
2. med shock for when you feel you should have made money
3. high shock for when you or a friend bought the item but never showed in your reports
4. Death shock for extrem situations such as allowing a parasite to join network or when merchant decides to reverse your sales

How about affiliatesmell, a small add on to your PC/MAC which emits smells based on type of transaction and amount. Large sale smells like fresh from the dryer downy fresh towels, large reversals smell like a ticked off skunk....

OK then - we can have some fun with this.

Of course it has to be network centric as well as work for independant merchants.

I'll add in network/merchant default pages so that the user can define what to do when sales are not reported within certain time periods (IE: who to notify and what message to be sent). I don't think I can shock um but do like the idea - LOL. This section will allow you to define your own escallation procedures based on timelines associated with non sales. IE: The first message is nice, but you can make the messages be more irate and threatening the longer you go without sales.

ACK! That's backwards!

Extreme withdrawal from the important part of the stats (the MONEY) wouldn't help me be more productive!

Happypoon, (serious response) I love that idea! The ultimate in stat-checking convenience!

Heyder, I like your "shocking" idea, but I would escalate #3 to "Death Shock" status. Not getting paid is not getting paid--whether the transaction never shows up or gets taken back really doesn't change anything. So lethal zaps to both #3 and #4!

Hehe, okay, okay, I think I would withdraw too, and if I ever get to your all's level, I'm sure I'll want to check it more, hehe.
