Haiko sent a newsletter about a software to clean up your system a while ago, but we lost it and hence the URL to it.

Does anyone have a URL to a good one? Or the one Haiko recommended?

    bernie,

the site haiko recommeded is http://www.aluriasoftware.com/spywareeliminator/

You'll see it come up some in the banner rotations at the top of pages here also.

Spybot and Adaware are two other programs. It doesn't hurt to run more than one. They may target slightly different kinds of software, plus they may update their definitions at different times. So running more than one may catch someting another program misses and vis versa.

I still have the original email:

    <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>All,

I have found a fantastic software program that identified a highly malicious Trojan on my system that even after multiple ad-aware and antivirus scans never showed up! I highly suggest that everyone download the Spyware Eliminator and do the scan to see what is really on your system and finally clean it completely. Click Here to download it now

    Continued Success,

    Gordon,

I have found a fantastic way to identify any highly malicious Trojans on your system that even after multiple ad-aware and antivirus scans never showed up! I highly suggest that everyone do this. Take a half glass of coca cola, heat it slightly then pour on keyboard and in computer stand. Take one sheet off the toilet roll and very very carefully wipe the areas that the coca cola missed. Leave until coca cola goes sticky then reboot your computer.

    Continued Success,

    Haiko

Vanilla Coke works better for this sort of stuff..

The Aluria Spyware Eliminator is a good product. The commission rate is good too, so it's worth a) having a look at their program or b) ordering it off one of the banners on the site.

I regularly use plain old Coke on a rag to remove Parot poop from my keyboard. Figured it was OK since it removes rust from chrome auto bumpers too.

Thanks you all. Aluria found 70 files and 65 cookies with with spy stuff. One of the other programs mentioned only found 26!

I'm so glad you gave Spyware a Try Bernie! It is a great tool designed especially for the merchant & affiliate in mind to help protect your commissions from hackers/thieves by cleaning the spyware that can steal your sale!

We were interviewed this morning by Entrepreneur Magazine on Spyware Eliminator. It was a great interview! They are putting us in an article...not sure when
