    (4) Return Days Exceeded
Just for fun, I ran a report on non-commisionable sales for February and noticed that I had a little over $2000 in non-commissionable sales for Dell Home.

I guess I am not understanding what "Return Days Exceeded" really means.

It means, Dell's cookies is set to expire after 3 days.

So if Joe Smoe click through your site (cookie is set), browse on Dell's site and decides to buy in 4 days, you are out of luck.

Dell Home has a 1 day cookie duration. Any sale completed more than 24 hours after the click through your affiliate link will not be compensated.

The (4) has nothing to do with the number of return days. That is just the code that Linkshare uses for that message. Dell has no cookie duration (I think). What that means is that someone clicked on the link on your site, and went to Dell, but did not order at that time. That person then went back to Dell and make their purchase.

The Dell Home terms in Linkshare clearly state a 1 day cookie.

I thought that in the title, it says (4), so I assumed that it was 4 days exceeded.
    I stand corrected. Thanks Snowman.
From another thread going on, Apple has a 1 day cookie too and they just moved to CJ

There are other programs out there that have cookies that expires after 3/8 of a day or some weird #. So in this case of 3/8-a-day, you are looking at 9 hours.
If the visitor does not buy with 9 hours, you are not compensated.

IMHO, I think short time frame greatly favors the merchant and personally, expensive items or electronic items should have a longer cookie duration. It took me 2 week to decide on a TV to buy and 4 day to research a dual-layer DVD burner. Some lucky aff on ABW got the comm

This thread should win a prize for the most misinformation in the fewest posts.

Apple Store's cookie at Linkshare was 15 days. I can't confirm what it is at CJ since I can't get to CJ now (times out).

Rather than spewing off and/or posting to be first or increase your post count, consider researching your assumption before misleading others, especially newbies.

ADDED: Apple Store has a 15 day cookie at CJ as well.

Thanks. I am not sure where you come or if you are working in the corporate enviroment but there most companies have a thing called vacation. Why do you assume that I am at work or I have nothing to do during business hours? Here is a hint: Don't assume everything as you might be providing false info.

Other than acknowledging that I am wrong for the inaccurate info that I got from another posting, I do not think I can do anything else.

Personally, I think nobody is perfect. If I am, I would have millions or worshipers such as Jesus, Allah, Buddah, etc. So other than negative and personal attacks, , I would prefer to go with the constructive criticism. Thanks for correcting me about the cookie duration and have a great day.

p.s.- The Ferro family did win the $20k in today's episode of Family Fued as I was channel flipping. So, the question of the day, am I at work?

I think Eric and Snowman have some "personal isues" which need to be addressed privately.

Since my comments are limited only to his postings which are frequently made with no valid basis, there is nothing to discuss privately.

As a vocal participant in numerous online forums, I make it a point to out comments that can be detrimonious and I will continue to do so.
