I know a lot of people have some of these merchants because their visitors always look for them. You may not get commission since they don't have affiliate programs, but you might get a visitor that remembers your site and comes back. I've asked before about some of these merchants.

Banana Republic goes thru BeFree but on a private invitation.
JJill i think is Performics.
Casual Corner i think in independent.
Guess, Footlocker and most of the others don't have their own programs but you can link to their apparal page thru Amazon.

I might be wrong on some of this, maybe somebody can help, but i think i got most of it right.

I can confirm after 4 years that Brick-n-Mortar department stores or fashion outlets do not convert at acceptable rates for small affiliates. Has something to do with the affiliate managers who all shy away from ever posting here or elsewhere due to not wanting to justify 1000 clicks to produce 1 sale.

Well, I talked to my contact at Befree and they said they don't have Banana Republic.

Thanks, I'm gonna check on the others.

hehe I guess you have to be in the "in-crowd" at befree to even know about bananna republic.

I have to wonder why any merchant would make their affiliate program top secret if their goals are to generate income from online sources.

The logic just isn't there unless their invitations go out to only the best of the best. Even still I don't understand the point in not taking advantage of all available resources.

Burpee was at LS a couple of years ago, but they killed their aff. program and as far as I know, they didn't open another one.

I guess you have to know somebody. Sarah was nice enough to help me get Apple from Linkshare, i do pretty good with them. I think with banana republic you might want to email the AM at GAP.
