I would like to offer a bit of advice to anyone still in contact with merchants over ebates and diversion issues.

There have been merchants here who have plainly stated they participated in ebates but removed themselves from the MMM functionality.

Most of our merchant awareness campaigns against Ebates has been asking for the merchant to "drop ebates".

The win we need with ebates is to have merchants drop the MMM portion of the ebates program (which is where diversions can occur).

There is a very big difference between the two statements of "drop ebates" vs "drop the MMM ad- on".

Any furture discussions with merchants should take this into consideration. Many merchants are likely not aware they can drop MMM as a subset of the ebates program as some merchants here have clearly indicated they have done.
