I know the spiders are busy, but....
Google comes by and indexes my main page every other day, which is nice. However, some of my other pages, which are updated sometimes daily, haven't been re-visited since May 9th and have the "Supplemental Result" listing.

Not that I am expecting an answer on this. I guess I am not understanding the logic, not that google understands it either.

How often do you update your sitemap? Does it add the all of the options?

I've been playing with gsitecrawler. (http://gsitecrawler.com/) Freeware/donationware. Neat little tool. After using it I did notice a difference.

Not sure how updating a sitemap is going to make any difference. The spiders know the pages I have since they are all indexed already. My understanding is that a sitemap simply helps to inform the spiders about pages. After they know, not sure how that would help.

I don't use a google based sitemap, but tather a site map that defines the pages of my site and puts them into categories, which is more geared to actual visitors.

Who knows, maybe I will try that out.

Usually just getting more links in does the trick.

I would make sitemaps for both visitors and bots ... won't hurt to make sure there's multi ways for the bots to find your pages.

I agree with this. Create both.

I recently used gsitecrawler to create google site maps for about 6 sites. Actually I used it to update the sitemaps. After getting the updated maps verified by google, google bots re-crawled these sites within a matter of days.

Got nothing to lose by trying it. Takes minutes to set up, it runs/uploads in the background. Does Yahoo urllist too.

Watch logs. You'll see Y and G pick up the files. They like em.

Will give it a shot. Is there a rule as to whether forum pages should or shouldn't be included in a sitemap?
