    They go in the <head> part of the page

    and look like this:

    <META NAME="description" CONTENT="Your website description --- the text that shows in the SE.">
    <META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="keyword1, keyword2, keyword phrase, etc,.">

    hope that helps

    When you are designing web pages it always helps to see what others are doing for everything.

    Including the Head and metatags.

    If you are on a page right click and "View Source" in Firefox.

    I think it is "View Page Source" in IE.

    Look at what others do. Write yours then check you didnt mess anything up on seotools.com. Sometiomes people forget to close things with > and that can make a page look crazy.

    Good Luck

    You can have more than two meta tags, there are meta tags that do other things besides determine keywords and descriptions. As long as you don't have duplicates (ie. two meta tags that both list keywords) you should be fine.

    Hey i just use the meta tag analyzer

    Meta tags analysis.
    Title: Title relevancy to page content is poor.
    The Title relevancy to page content is 50%.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Description: Description meta tag contains no errors.
    This tag contains 97 characters.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Description relevancy to page content is good.
    The Description relevancy to page content is 83%.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Keywords: Keyword relevancy to page content is very poor. However, this is not necessarily bad if you have a lot of content. The most important factor is to have your keywords on the page a few times.
    The keywords relevancy to page content is 47%.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Robots: Found no robots meta tag.
    This tag is not really required but helps spiders to index the web page.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Author: The Author meta tag contains no errors.
    This tag contains 22 characters.

    What do you mean Found no robots meta tag and Keyword relevancy to page content is very poor. However, this is not necessarily bad if you have a lot of content. The most important factor is to have your keywords on the page a few times.?

    Holy cow!!! SOB...

    Can anyone please kindly explain to me?

    IF you right click and view source on this page or many pages in other sites you get:

    <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="INDEX, FOLLOW">

    That means that robots for search engines should list this page and follow any links to other pages and possibly list them also.

    I dont usually worry about this. You might also want to look up robots.tx files. More useful in my opinion.

    I would suggest looking up robots.txt and learn what and how they work.

    I would also make sure you choose to direct all in coming traffic to either the www or non www. This goes in your .htaccess file

    below is code to direct to the www

    #Begin non-www page protection #
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.websitehere\.com [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.websitehere.com/$1 [L,R=301]
    </IfModule>
    # End non-www page protection #

    Great idea on the www vs http i had a site get tripped up on that once...

    the robot tag is not really needed as stated, unless you don't want something indexed and then that should be added to the robot.txt also

    On your title tag do you have any <h1> tags built inot the page yet? if not it's well worth searching on the use and importance of them for SEO add then test again ;-)

    Merchants are happy to approve small websites as long as they add value. You might want to drop your link into the Site Review forum here so others can take a look at it and give you advice.
