I am developing a site for men to shop and for others to purchase gifts for men.
I would like the site to be somewhat substantial. (i.e. a number of relevant pages)
Can some of you offer some ideas for page themes?
Gifts? Clothing? etc.
What I seem to be able to come up with: (may be limited because I have only allowed myself linkshare and cj so far)Clothing, outdoors, sporting goods,and gifts. Should the index page be a sampling of all of the other pages? In other words..should I have a few specials of clothing, outdoor products, etc. on the index page? Any advice at this point is appreciated
I will post on the site review board when I get a clear direction of where I am going.

I will see it when I believe it.

Best put up a page like this if you need a converting merchant... They average 1 sale per every 20 clicks without affiliates. Info on joining their afiliate program is at

Magazines, Books, anything related to cars, powert tools, hardware....

Men probably buy more Flowers and Chhocolates as gifts for their loved ones...

Tickets to sporting events, sports memorobilia, links to these things on ebay...

Food for thought, the average owner of PS2 and/or Xbox console is a male aged 30 - 35 and earns over 60,000 a year. Games, accessories, consoles, t-shirts etc could be an idea.

Some good ideas here. Thanks. Should I take these suggestions and dedicate pages to them? Is that how others do it? So in other words:
Index--->xbox page
Index--->Men's clothing page
Or should I do something like this:
Index--->Men's clothing page--->Suspenders page
What primarily should be my focus for the index page?
I guess I am looking for the thought process that you have in mind when you are developing a site layout.
Thanks again.

I will see it when I believe it.
