I thought it would be interesting if we all post our affiliate goals here for the year 2002 and then on this very day, December 23, 2002 we can all come back here to see if we've accomplished our goals. I'll go first.

My goals for the year 2002 are to:

    >Create a massive online shopping store to be launched before next x-mas.

    >Reach my goal of making $20,000 a month okay maybe I'll settle for $16,000 LOL!!

    >Start what I finish and don't have 5 projects going at once.

    >Have a total of 100 websites up and running.

    >Maintain my sanity and yet still work hard and strive to achieve the above goals.

    My goals for 2002:

    1) Get a train whistle from CJ

    2) Get a cheque from beFree, any cheque of any amount from anybody there will do

    3) Make half of what Jada is making

    Jada:
100 websites? Do you plan to hire anybody to work on them? I'll have trouble remembering the domain names, let alone work on them all by myself.

    Cheers,

TianTian - I keep a log of all my urls. So far I have 45 sites. Yes, I plan on designing them all myself. Except one - the online super store that I want launched by next x-mas - I am going to outsource that one.

Dr. Evil - your wife will believe you sooner or later. When she sees those fat checks rolling in for thousands of dollars and then she'll be wanting to go shopping. LOL!!! Remind her of this. It can be done - don't let anyone discourage you. Keep working hard.

The main goal over here has to be to diversify the content of the websites that we have, and to diversify the merchants that we deal with.

Websites: 15 new sites per month for 2002. January launches will start this off with 42.

Commissions: double our December 2001 earnings.

Train whistle: I have one. Find it.

Pages: 500K by the end of 2002.

Damn.... CodeJockey - and I thought I was a workaholic. Did you say 500K meaning 500 thousand sites by December 2002? I think I'm reading this wrong - you know I'm a little slow. LOL!!!

My goal is to crank out 4 new sites a month - kind of lazy huh. hehe

I want to be featured in a magazine like Forbes. I want everyone to have heard of my site (in a positive way) and have it listed as one of the top ten search engines.

Oh and I'll take a few bucks too!

I am only a humble guy so my goals would be quite simple,

Create a massive online shopping store to be launched before Jan 4th

make enough to be able to pay someone to reach my goals for me

Reach my goal of making $200,000 a month okay maybe I'll settle for $199,999 (I might need to employ a couple of guys to reach this!!

Make that much I don't have to worry about finishing what I start.

Do it all with one website and 5MB of space and 1GIG of transfer on a free hosted site

Maintain (or should I say refind) my sanity and yet still play hard and strive to employ people to reach the above goals for me

in all seriousness I would be happy just to be able to pay the bills and have a couple or maybe three holidays abroad per year.

I thought that it was only the Old Geezers that were slow. You young people are always in too much of a hurry.

I use the phrase 'websites' meaning domains. My terminology for pages is a page of hypertext within a domain.

I don't think of too many concrete goals with a 1-year timespan, but there are some:

A new car by this time next year. Luxury, all the way! Paid for in CASH.

All the stuff in the house that needs fixing, fixed.

Next winter I want to see the first snow in Michigan--on TV in a winter house in Hawaii or Florida!

The gardening can be "no work" because somebody else can do all of it. I'll just make out the landscape plan...

By next fall, 5 digits/mo. In front of the decimal point! The figure preferably will start with a 2 or a 3 (or bigger).

HUGE Christmas Season earnings next year. Enough to make this year's record highs look like chump change.

No plans as to how many sites or pages, or particular products. That part depends on how well they do, which opportunities arise, etc.

Of course, I also want to perfect the playing of some new video games in the summer, and take ALL summer off! That'll leave about 9 months of active time to do all of this...

Everything Leader said, except I'm content to live on the Canadian prairies for now, and don't need a new vehicle just yet.

I'd like to just stash some cash, and keep the lifestyle changes subtle, except for more travel.

One of my goals would be some significant giving to charity, that no one would know about except my accountant. I once read that when Richard Burton was buying extravagant jewellery for Elizabeth Taylor, or other luxury spending, he would always quietly donate an equivalent amount to charity. I like that approach!

Basically I'll just keep doing more of what I'm doing now, hopefully a little smarter each month.

You could always make an anonymous donation to the "Gordon Skevy's Beer Fund" it is a very helpful yet largely unknown fund, but I can asure you any donations will go to the cause, there will be none wasted on administration costs.

Gordon, when I get to the stage of writing serious cheques to charity, I'll remember you.

It will be like the guy who had a clause in his will, "... and to my nephew Bob whom I promised to remember in my will: Hi Bob!"

    My goals on the web:
    - Diversify so I'm not biting my fingernails when Google re-indexes, re-algos. Including some content sites, finding some merchants not on-line who would like traffic from the net, or drop shipping.

    - $10k/mo by June, a lot more by next year when we dig up this thread.

    - No site making under $1k/month, so that if I have 50 sites I'll be making $50k/mo.

    My off web goals:
    - Giving a lot of help to those who have helped me on line and off line. I would love to tell those who have given me money when the bills were overwhelming and the kids needed food, "Here, and there's more, and don't tell anyone who gave it to you."

    - Travel to see my family and get my kids acquainted with their relatives scattered over the world.

    - Take time every morning in my studies, and expand the time I spend on them.

    - Some other things that I'll write on a note to myself in my notebook near my monitor...

    Laudable goals all.

    Mine are:

To postpone the inevitable "steak for worms" phase another year.

    To 'don't worry, be happy.'

To get back to the land and set the soul free.

To continue to have a 'no truck' for fools attitude including the one seen in the mirror every morning.

To trash the roundtoit for square one.

To get the books published: All four of them.
Do it yourself is easy - just have to do it.

To play more golf and less computer.

To go where no man has gone before - well maybe Tim Leary has been there but that's about it.

To build an 'honest' ad network where evryone wins. Some big, somenot so big. But
they get a check each month.

To do whatever I desire from the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep. I have the sleep part already covered.

    To remember two things:

You can get what you want by helping others get what they want.

He that's not busy being born, is busy dying.

And as the great guru Jerry Garcia said:
    "Keep on Trucking."

Merry Christmas to all and to all Happy New Year.

    "Beam me down, Scottie."

Okay, here it goes. (Jada, this was a great idea, it is sooo, soooo important to put your goals into writing!)

quote:
To prove to my wife and family that this really is a business and not me playing around.

Dr., It took me 2 years to do that. (I think I did it anyway)

Okay, I have 100s of short term goals, here they all are in a nut shell.

To net 10,000+ per month and only work 1 hour per day.

¤ Merry Christmas to all ¤

Merry Christmas to all the ABW members and hope Y-2002 sees everyone making more money in affiliate marketing as it matures into a sustainable revenue stream. My New Years resolutions involve doubling my CJ earnings monthly by efforts to eliminate traffic to non performers. This includes taking down BeFree and LS merchant links who haven't show any sales over the lats 2 years. Building special sections for my top 10 merchants to showcase their best selling products. Basically to focus my limited traffic to the merchants whith a history of reporting sales and high conversion ratios. The others no longer deserve the FREE advertising they got from EcomCity and my other 3 Net properties.

All Spongebo - you almost pulled me in with that one. Haiko aren't you proud of me - I have learned to keep my mouth shut compared to the CJU days - to an extent.

But I must say Spongebo - I only spend about $1,000 per month on PPCs and other advertising campaigns. Thus my commissions being 10 xs that. I guess that's a reasonable goal for you depending on what your making now. But personally, I'd go higher.

Jada, you are WAAAAY to literal! I was just jugging.

Although we'll take that $1000. "We" are actually 6 different people, so 6K a month will work for next year.
