we have noticed a marked slowdown of traffic over the last few days affecting most of our sites.

    have you noticed something similar?

Yep, traffic has slowed down a bit, but I don't think it's unusual for the time of year.

    slowed down a bit?

I think traffic is like just 20% of normal traffic! sales too are in the same equation

This is normal for this time of the year - with one exception: greeting cards websites

This is my first Christmas season online (I had a previous site that canned by the company - along with a few hundred other sites - in September 2001. Didn't start my initial, independent site until January 2002). I'd heard the traffic slowed to a crawl, so I was expecting it. But it still sucks to see your traffic drop so dramatically. It's like a bad Saturday (my own personal worst web day of the week) every day. :P

Friday was very slow for me but everything has caught up yesterday and today. I'm expecting traffic to dive over the next week and a half.
