I Need a New Logo. Free Graphics Software?
I really need a new logo. It looks like arse. Do you know of or use any cheap or free graphics tools to create your logos? I uses Serif Photoplus, which is free, but it's just not cutting it for me.

I just got free logo software from aaa-logos when I put up a link to them, it is ok but you can't do transparency on it.

Obviously the Gimp is free (http://www.gimp.org), but I prefer the Adobe Suite to Gimp. It could be the one case where I prefer to pay for software over an open source alternative...

I prefer photoshop as well, but the GIMP is the next best thing.

At the Affiliate Summit, Digital River was giving out complimentary copies of LogoDesign Studio in their booth. I'm graphically challenged, but I was able to use it to create a couple logos that I think looked decent. For instance:

    Ulead PhotoImpac
I use Adobe Photoshop CS but there are some things I like to do with Ulead's PhotoImpac. I received an earlier edition of PhotoImpac (through a deal) when I became a member of 1&1.

You can read reviews of Ulead's PhotoImpac and get it at download.com
Free to try; $89.99 to buy (if you don't want to splurge on Photoshop, $89.99 is inexpensive in comparison to Photoshop's price tag but Photoshop is worth the money in the long run)

Seymour, what kind of a sytem are you running, XP?

Thought of something. I don't like the newer versions of PSP since Corel bought Jasc out, but some of the older versions are still available in places for reduced prices; and they were better, do bitmap and vector, and there's plenty of documentation that comes with it (older versions) and a ton of tutorials out there.

I had to create a logo a short while back for a company and have a bunch of random ones left over.....they wanted it to look like a wine label though,,,,let me know if you want any of them...I am keeping one though for use on a new project.
