Question LS's converts links to give SEO benefit to merchants?
This Press Release was brought to my attention and I found the development to be interesting (apologies if anybody has raised this before). LS is "testing a new link structure with Overstock.com intended to give advertisers natural search benefits to enhance their ranking on Google and other search engines".

Anybody have any comments on this experiment?

Would that affect tracking as well?
I've sent 3,000+ clicks to overstock this month without a sale.

I've had 1650 clicks to overstock and have had no sales at all!!

I did email them and ask, and she told me there was nothing wrong, just no sales.

Womanht: did you contact them? If you did, what did they say? Did you remove their links?

I don't know what to do, and I'm sure I'm losing sales...All of my traffic is nature search engine traffic and I see at least one sale per 100 click throughs.

This is so disappointing for me..I could almost cry.

Overstock has hundreds of media items under $5 so I would encourage you to make a test purchase. If you have no use for the item, you can always donate it to a charity and then you can even take a tax deduction.

Maybe you know someone in the U.S. who could do it for you and you could reimburse them. With as many clicks as you reported, it would be worth the effort.

I thought Overstock shipped everywhere. What state is Canada in?

Having just set up a string of "you-ignorant-American" posts ... perhaps your traffic is coming from Canada. I've sent piles of non-converting clicks to merchants. On analyzing the source of the clicks, I've found that they came from places not served by merchant in question.

As the net grows the US makes a smaller and smaller portion of the internet surfing market. That means that affiliate marketers have to get better at delivering people to pages that serve their nationality.
