    Hyatt Hotels Not Paying
Hyatt hasn't paid affiliates since May and they aren't paying this month either. This is a program managed by CJ with no in-house contact info.

The hotel business is booming. Hyatt isn't having any financial problems.

Snowman, you've cited a number of non-paying hotel affiliate programs in various sub forums.

Are there any hotel affiliate programs that are paying well (a simple yes or no answer is fine, I'm not asking for the name of your converting hotel program) as opposed to The Hyatt or as opposed to other programs you cite?

I like to travel and have been thinking about creating web pages for hotels and travels but you've posted about many hotel and travel affiliate programs that haven't paid. Do you think there'll be a turn around in this type of affiliate program?

Rhia, there are a few travel programs that pay well, but there are definitely several that are problematic. Another one that I've had problems with just recently that I haven't even mentioned yet is Wynn Las Vegas.

Connie, thanks so much for letting us know that Hyatt has deactivated. Frankly, I'm shocked. That just happened within the past few hours because I had a Hyatt booking report several hours ago. There has been no notification. In the almost 7 years I've been in affiliate marketing, this is probably the largest loss I've had to take from any single merchant. Who would have ever thought it would come from such a well known travel brand!

Note to a Moderator: Please update the title of this thread by adding NOW DEACTIVATED.

I am thinking they were deactivated for non payment. I have a feeling once they pay up they will be allowed to reactivate by CJ.

    On 8/14, I emailed hyatt@cj.com:
Why has Hyatt continued to remain in arrears without paying affiliates for three months now and why hasn't there been any communication to affiliates?
I sent a followup on 8/16 several hours before the deactivation. Late in the day on 8/16 we learned from Connie's post that the program was deactivated. There has been absolutely no communication on any of this from CJ.

Still no official notification, but I did get a response to my email to hyatt@cj.com:
We apologize for the delay. Our account is currently on hold. We will send further updates as we move forward. Thank you for your patience with this issue.

    Sincerely,

    Hyatt Affiliate Team

Looks like Hyatt is active again.

    Rhia7,
IC Hotels Group, Best Western, Marriott, Starwood (Sheraton, 4pts, Westin), Fairmont, Radisson, Country Inns, are all ones that I have been paid for on time or almost on time.

Hyatt is definitely not active. From the Advertiser Detail screen:

Shame on you CJ for not communicating ANYTHING about this program to your affiliates.

I complained to hyatt@cj.com and got the same brush-off e-mail yesterday. I'm really disgusted that they couldn't be bothered to notify anyone. If nothing else, CJ should have notified Hyatt affiliates.

Well, the links are gone from my site and I doubt they'll be coming back, even if they get their act together!

Don't despair, there truly are some good hotel affiliate programs out there. I use mostly white label programs (currently) through three large merchants - and have not missed an earned check in seven years.

Orbitz (in Linkshare) also has what seems to be a good program. Angela, the Aff Mgr, has a presence on this board and is truly a great person. (Do a forum search for Orbitz)

Sleepless, I would appreciate it if you would post your question elsewhere so as to not take this discussion completely off topic. The "Other Affiliate Networks" forum might be a good place.

More than a year in arrears, it looks like Hyatt is finally paying for last years sales according to my CJ commission report. At least they are finally paying but this is just inexcusable from a major hotel brand. I wonder if they treat travel agents the same way.

I absolutely love the Hyatt here in Baltimore - I work it through a major indie program, get a better commish than by going direct, no parasites to worry about, and payments are always on time, usually within 20 - 40 days of booking. It is also in an ideal location that commands high room rates all year. I also like another one at the beach in Maryland - except that I run it through another indie program with slightly lower commish and slightly longer payment terms. Unfortunately, it is seasonal and only has those $400 room nights for a 12 week season.

To take a year to pay (through any program) is absurd. You are very generous to them - to stay with them under those terms.

I didn't stay with them because CJ kicked them out a year ago.
