    eHarmony Deactivated?!
I just received notice that eHarmony has deactivated on CJ. The email address at eharmony.com bounced. I have a strange feeling about this. Anyone know what is going on? Discontinuing completely or perhaps bringing the program in house?

    Not the only one...
    I got deactivated too.

Also, the money I earned last month was locked but never closed. Did this happen to you also? Does e-harmony normally take this long?

    Thanks

I got an email to join them today but I deleted it because I don't do dating stuff so can't say where it came from. Might be on a new network. Try contacting them via their web site.

Probably temporary since it says active under status and they've been at CJ for over 6 years now. There is a chance they're going but I would guess slim.

    Not deactivated
I think there's a bit of a misperception here. Nothing has been deactivated. I heard they were down for a few hours but all my leads for the past 48 hours are registered and I've recieved credit for them. No indication that eHarmony and Cj are going opposite ways.

I don't know if they used to have a link, but I don't even see an "affiliates" link on their site now?

I'm not in their program, but I got curious reading this so I did a search for eharmony in the CJ Get Links section, and it came up as active. What is very curious is 7 and 30 day EPCs of $71.71 and $54.22, but zero green bars in Network Earnings. I don't recall ever seeing anything like that before.

maybe that deactivated - reactivated thing ruined the earnings bar?

I experienced this problem too and did some investigating and wrote the following blog article about it:

eHarmony Affiliation with Commission Junction Could be in Jeopardy

I've been searching to see what others were saying about this incident and found this great forum as a result! It's a pleasure to meet you. I look forward to reading your insight and becoming a participant.

    Cheers,

    Joe Tracy

    E-eHarmony just emailed me this...
Greetings from the eHarmony Marketing team! We wanted to reach out and thank you for your business.

We recently made changes to our CJ links to compliment eHarmony backend tracking. It has come to our attention that many of our partners are using outdated links. Although sales and commissions track normally, this does not comply with our new backend best practice policy. We need our partners to update eHarmony links with our most current links. Many of the links have been updated to reflect new landing pages, better tracking and great content to help you close more sales!

Just Click Here to get some of our new links and updated creative assets.

We do need this change to happen rather quickly, so we need you to change all of your links by Friday August 31, 2007. After that date we will expire all of the old links.

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact us at partnering@eharmony.com. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership.

    Sincerely,

    The eHarmony Affiliate Team

    lilmentor,

It isn't just a case of using "up-to-date-links." Your company, eHarmony, deactivated affiliates.

A "de-activation" is a real hassle. eHarmoney should have sent out communication to affiliates instead of deactivating them.

I don't like to play guessing games as to whether my affiliate advertising efforts will be paid or not.

De-activating affiliates is not a wise move

Once an affiliate merchant deactivates me, I am not in a rush to replace links.
I'll consider it, maybe get around to it, but I'll take my time after any inconvenience.
Maybe other affiliates have different views, but that's mine.

Added: The initial "de-activation" was a downer enough for me to withdraw all of your links, so there is no worry of "out-of-date links."

Quotes (especially long ones) should be enclosed in a "blue quote box" similar to this one:

Otherwise, at first glance it might be construed as an original

Near the time commissions were being made, eHarmony was added to the Deactivated Advertisers list and any funds from July were moved out of August payments and into LOCKED. Since eHarmony is now Active again, you should see those payments in September. I wrote about this in a blog post about seven posts above this one. The good news, though, is that you'll get your payment and that eHarmony is still quite active with Commission Junction.

Yeah, it looks like a happy ending. I'm showing active again, too. Also got an email from eHarmony saying they are "not discontinuing" with CJ.

It looks as if affiliates (who had been deactivated) are now seamlessly reinstated.

I dont' think affiliates were deactivated, the merchant was.
And it only lasted a day, so all is well in dating-land. for now.
