    Overstock.com
Does anyone recall the exact date that Overstock began using branded links? I think it was some time in July. I don't do a lot with Overstock and my July sales were pretty normal, but my August sales have been very low. womanht just reported that she hasn't had a sale from 3,000 clicks. http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=93331

What has been your experience with Overstock over the past month?

Converting at 6.85% this month on daily sales. Forgot about the switch. My homepage link is still click.linksynergy.com and the coupon links I have up are linksynergy.overstock.com.

Check your logs - I'm having trouble with both a 'bot' named Twiceler and one of the several Google 'bots' (66.249.70.78) both following my aff links on to Overstock giving me an inflated click count. I've stopped (knock on wood) the Twiceler bot in my 'robots.txt' file but I don't want to deny a Google 'bot'

Why don't you want to deny a Google bot? Just curious, as I deny all traffic to affiliate links in my robots.txt. In fact, I send everything through a redirect script, which does many things, one of which is hide a direct link to linksynergy, cj, etc. ad servers. I've always been under the impression that this helps SEO?

Trust and ske9963, how are you calculating your conversions? Remember that most Overstock orders include two or more items. Are you calculating your conversion by number of items divided by the number of clicks OR the number of orders (all items from a single transaction) divided by the number of clicks?

For August, when I calculate the first way, my conversion is 2.8%. Calculated the second way, it's 1.4%.

For 1/1/07-7/31/07, when I calculate the first way, my conversion is 7.6%. For the same period, when I calculate the second way, my conversion is 2.3%.

So either way I look at it, I'm down this month.

Last checked for August >3000 clicks and zero sales
In the recent months I've had like 6000 clicks and zero sales for overstock.
    What on earth is wrong?

    August 2007 - 333 clicks, 29 orders (66 items)
    August 2006 - 284 clicks, 47 orders (166 items)

I actually have noticed that sales have been going down with Overstock, but just attributed it to changes in my advertising campaigns. Overstock makes up a very small portion of my business so I haven't been too concerned. I guess it could be tracking, they also have done some site redesign...
Merchants, any data you provide to Google Shopping should also be in your affiliate network datafeed. More data means more sales!

My conversion rate with Overstock has been dropping steadily the past few months...down from 6-8% to 1-2%. Today I got a mail from them asking to "prove" (via screenshots and url's) where my traffic is coming coming from because of people abusing PPC. Anybody else get that? Everything I do is organic search traffic...you'd think they could have a report that would tell them which affiliates were sending traffic from where.

I'm getting really fed up with them between the conversion rate and this "guilty until proven innocent" approach.

Mine actually ended up dropping a little bit time the month was over. Ended up with a 5.02% conversion rate for August, still good for me but will keep an eye on it.
