    BEWARE - Calendars.com Datafeed - DON'T UPDATE
Just a thumbs up to anybody using the Calendars.com datafeed

DON'T TRY UPDATING as you will lose your complete site.

I have just tried updating my feed from calendars.com and it has killed my calendars site altogether.

The reason being is that they have changed the name of the datafeed file to linklibrary.csv and the format of the file has changed substantially. It has a load of data that doesn't seem to relate to calendars at all.

I have emailed them and awaiting a response.

In the meantime, does anybody have calendars.com datafeed.txt file that I could have so that I can get my site back up and running.

Download the beta version of DySE::Calendars from
    http://www.c3scripts.com/calendars/release/

Unzip the .zip file, upload make.pl, run make.pl

Thanks for that David. I looked in the news section as well but didn't notice this beta lurking down the bottom.

I have downloaded and rerun make.pl and all is working again.

However, the categories have changed quite substantially so now I get a list of text links rather than graphics. For instance, the travel category comes up with a long list of US states and countries, but only one sample graphic on the bottom of the screen.

In view of this, are there any new variables that can be added to the templates in respect of sub categories so that pictures are shown as opposed to text links.

If a script has a beta, it will be in its release directory. Beta's are not announced in Bulletins; only formal releases are announced in Bulletins. The latest DySE::Calendars will be formally announced in the next day or two.

Calendars.com's datafeed now has items organized into categories and sub-categories, instead of just categories. The "Travel" category has sub-categories such as "California" and "New York" (and others). Clicking on a sub-category will show products in that sub-category. Unfortunately, Calendars.com left some items in categories rather than putting them into sub-categories (e.g.: Travel has one item "America Postcard Book" and all the other items are in sub-categories of Travel); no work-around for that.

Use the beta view.pl from http://www.c3scripts.com/dyse/release/ -- It has better 404 handling than the released version. It redirects PATH/FILE to PATH/SUBPATH/FILE so old URL's keep working.

David -- does this new script work with Calendars.com datafeeds from CJ and/or Performics? Or just the MyAP/Kowabunga feed, which the company has said will end in a few months?
