    Life's too short...
    ... to hold a grudge
... to not tell someone you love them
... to waste time being angry about things you can't change
... to wait to make a difference
... to say "I'll do it tomorrow"
... to tell the kids "We'll do that next week"
... to wait and take that trip another time

I read an interesting story in Sports Illustrated a year or more ago. It talked about the wife of the Baltimore Raven's owner. She had always wanted to be a cheerleader and anonymously tried out for the cheer squad although she was 10 years or more older than the other candidates. Of course she made the team but not because she was the owner's wife.

As you read further down in the story she was a very smart woman. She had written a list of 10 things she definitely wanted to accomplish in life. She realized after having some kids that she had never pursued that item on her list and went after it with gusto.

I think about that story now and then and realize how important it is to identify those things in life that are important and the things you want to accomplish. We are not promised any certain number of days so its best to write your list and start scratching off the items sooner rather than later.

In fact, I am going to start a new thread asking for the 10 things people most want to do in their life.
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die
to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there
isn't and die to find out there is.

. to say "I'll do it tomorrow"
That depends entirely on what the "it" is. I don't think life's to short to STALL ON

--doing the laundry or any other cleaning
    --doing any other dreckish ch_ore
--doing something yourself if you know that tomorrow, someone you can pawn it off on (under acceptable terms) will be available

Not everything is equally worth doing.

Other than that, here's my "life's too short for" list:

    Life's too short for:

    --Putting up with BS
--Wasting it working in someone else's factory, store, or other place of business
--Doing baloney like making the bed every day
    --Putting off doing enjoyable things
--Actually caring about stuff like 5lb weight gains

    Life's too short...

    Not to laugh every day.

Not to be the best friend you can be.

To sweat the small stuff... and of course, it's all small stuff.

Life's too short not to ask for what you want, give thanks for what you receive, and pay it forward.

    Life's too short...

To worry about every little thing. Worrying will steal your life if you let it.

Life's too short to literally worry about anything. Either you can do something about [possibility X] or you can't. If you can't, worrying about it won't help. If you can, worrying about it still won't help, and will detract from what will help--actually *doing* something about it!

Loxly, this thread is just what I needed today.

    Life is indeed too short:

    - to not see mistakes as learning opportunities
    - to say tomorrow, I will...
    - to not eat dessert first when the need arises
    - to be in constant pursuit of spotless kids and a perfectly clean house
    - to not say yes, I will have carbs with that
    - to not be thankful for second chances
    - to not feel trimphiant when scoring a great parking space in a packed Target parking lot with 2 kids, a baby and a monster sized stroller, even if the feeling is only good for a fleeting second

    Have a great day everybody!
