unlock the software or firmware.
If it involves hammering your phone or PDA with a mallet, I would not suggest it.Ma, where the beer? :escape:

errr do you need the battery in to take it apart?
just did the same thing with my digital camera no smoke but a nice repair bill for a new mother board.

Yeah I got tinkered alright lol was trying to fix something and burnt the board...but at least it didn't blow my hand off.
Some of the capacitors can hold a pretty good punch even with the battery out in the case of my camera it is around 110 volts...I wonder what the phone can hold???
