Help! How are they doing this and how to stop it?
I am not sure how they are doing this, or how to stop this:
    http://www.usacars.net.pl/browser/in...xkLmNvbQ%3D%3D

They have taken my site, done some kind of cloaking or something.

The first thing I'd do is ask my lawyer how to go about hiring a lawyer in Poland to send a cease-and-desist letter on your behalf.

Here's the information on it http://www.networksolutions.com/whoi...in=usacars.net

Contact their host and see if they will turn off the site.

Don't know. I checked and sure enough that domain was displaying your site. Then I clicked around and ended up getting a basic/default linux install screen.

Maybe, just maybe, "they" have leased a hosting account that resides on the same server as FlamingoWorld.com - and something has not yet settled in with the DNS and Virtual Host pointers. Hopefully that is all it is and it will straighten iteself out in a few more minutes.

We have dedicated servers, no one else is hosted on our server.

Well that shoots my theory. Sorry. But the link now seems to be consistently at the linux test page (at least here on the east coast - Baltimore). So, maybe (just maybe) someone's DNS server screwed up. I remember about two months ago, one of eNom's DNS servers (on the west coast) had a problem that took thousands of sites offline for a couple of hours.

Hopefully it is/was a glitch and not a deliberate act. Have you contacted the folks at your host? They (if whois is correct) should be very responsive.

Good Luck with getting it resolved quickly. I would be curious to hear the reason or explanation.

It now goes to the linux test page because Nate my programmer blocked the ip. But that doesn't stop them from trying it again or from others doing it.

One thing I suggest to everyone is to set up google alerts on your domain, it will send you an email when your site is mentioned, and it can show you lots of things you need to be aware of and need to take care of. Lets you know when anyone is copying and such.

here, we have .com, .net, etc.
in poland, they have .pl, .com.pl, .net.pl, etc.

so the domain name doing this isn't "usacars.net" as posted in post #3.
    the domain is "usacars.net.pl"

if you do a dns lookup, they have their identity shielded. use some advanced tools and you'll find it's....

I think you'd get to this fastest by complaining to their registrar, in Poland, e-tools.pl.

    find them at www.e-tools.pl

    good luck.

I went through the entire checkout process with one merchant from the usacars.net.pl domain. I never actually made it to the real merchant site, however I did receive a confirmation email from the actual merchant and verified my order in their system. I doubt these sketchballs are signed up for every affiliate program FlamingoWorld belongs to, so they're not earning commission by placing the order for me. However, they've constructed a wonderful phishing system as they now have my bogus credit card #. If anyone has a direct line to the fraud folks at eBay, you should send them this link. I bet they have the resources to sink these guys in no time.

Contacting Amazon is a good move. I still see this site, though, so it's taking more than 15 minutes for Hostmonster to take it down.

    Good luck with everything...

I didn't see what the first one was doing, but went to this coupons options dot info thing. While I see a remarkable resemblance to Connie's site, if you look closely it's not actually iframeing or scraping her site.

For example, notice the flamingo, Connie has a pink one with the site name around it, they have clearly taken her logo and changed the color to green and removed the site name.

The appearance is clearly meant to confuse as it has a similar style, but the left and top navigation is different.

I think what we have here is a copycat that has created an Amazon store based on Connie's design and style.

Not sure Host Monster will do anything about it, but Amazon might... maybe.
