    Another AdWords Question
    Got a question that I would appreciate someone's help in.

    When you're looking at your individual ad group stats, they are showing you two sources of clicks and hits:

    * Search total
    and
    * All sources total

    Under these two there is a list of all your keywords with detailed stats for each. However, it looks like it is showing only search results there.

    Is there any place where I may view a detailed keyword-by-keyword statistics report for the "all sources"?

    Many thanks,

    Geno

    Geno, good question. I do not believe so but would love to know if there is. I believe that is why most people much less for content.

    isn't and die to find out there is.

    Nope, because of the way the other sources work (namely the content network), there's no such things as a "keyword-by-keyword basis".

    To use the content network to its fullest potential, it's important to understand this point and where it comes from.

    Once you grasp how content network targeting works, you'll never construct Ad Groups the same again.

    Individual keywords are not used as trigger mechanisms in the Content Network, like they are in the Search and Search Network areas.

    So, Donuts, do you suggest its use or to avoid it? Do you suggest much lower bidding or similar?

    Looks like he is not suggesting to avoid it, but rather to learn more about content network targeting, and adjust your ads (or create new ones -- separate for content networks) in such a way that they convert into sales at the content sites too.

    Exactly!

    The content network is a huge opportunity on G, but it takes some trial and error to figure out works best - and not everything works out to the same degree, of course. I have some thumbrules for where I start, but that's a long discussion.

    Read up on how the targeting works first, then think about how that impacts your negs and your adgroup structure and more. It's not easy, but if you begin to focus on the content treating it as something wholly different from your search efforts, you can find loads of good, targeted, cheap traffic.

    Thank you, D. Will keep on studying and experimenting.
