Transaction Reporting When CJ is Down
As we all know, CJ.com experiences frequent downtime. I would venture to guess around 10% which is just unacceptable for a technology company, especially one that processes transactions.

Is there any impact on transaction processing when CJ is down? What happens to transactions that the merchant reports when CJ.com is down?

How do they report transactions? Can they report transactions when cj.com is down? Do they use the merchant interface or some other method? (email? ftp? ...??)

    Cool
Well - when they used to post here they would always tell us that tracking is never effected.

It's up to you whether you want to believe that or not.

    I don't.

I've worked with a number of large merchants, and we've never seen any drop in stats when the CJ account manager is down. Their tracking system is on different servers, and perhaps different networks.

I have been seeing a hit in sales today, but that could just be Sunday, or delayed transaction posting.

Yes. You have to define what you mean by "CJ down".

"CJ down" to me means CJ's entire network is unreachable from anywhere else on the Internet.

This is different from "CJ management interface unavailable", because the TRANSACTION RECORDING SYSTEM is completely separate, and can continue to log impressions and clicks.

Most times, when the management inteface is unreachable, it is true that "tracking is unaffected".

Drewbert, I asked about CJ.com and specifically about transactions that a merchant reports during that downtime, not impressions and clicks which are not reported by the merchant.

Joshua responded to what I asked.

Tracking is never EVER affected even if the tracking servers are down as well. CJ also pays everyone all at the same time of the month and NEVER is anyone NOT paid on time.

    So did I.

Note that Joshua said "when the CJ account manager is down", not "when CJ is down".
