I while back, I posted in the merchants against parasites forum asking if there were any flower merchants free from parasites.

I got a private email from one who claimed to be free of parasites.

I joined their program. Bought a domain and transfered it to be hosted in their name servers.

After that, I found that they are with Morpheus.

I asked for my domain back but no reply.

Any way I can get it back?

Did you change your contact email address to theirs? If you just changed the DNS setting to that of their server then its just a simple matter of switching DNS settings in your domain name manager. If you changed the contact email address then its a little tricker. Maybe the guy from Doster can help you more than I can.

    I'm a little unclear..

Did you just change the nameservers, or did you transfer the entire control of the domain to another party?

The golden rule with domains it to never, ever transfer them to somebody else (unless you're selling them) and to always keep them seperate from any hosting or merchant accounts.

If you'd like to share the domain name and who you registered with we can have a look, else send me a private message.

    Dynamoo's a little unclear. I'm a little confused.

What flower merchant requires you to set your domain name to resolve from their name servers?

I'm getting the feeling you're a phone support rep's worst nightmare.

Just got back from my J*B

    Thanks for your replies.

Actually this flower merchant has an affiliate program where they host the domains of affiliates. That means the flower store would be at my domain name.

Sounded really good, so I went and bought a nice domain for them to host.

Then I found they were with Morpheus. So I want out.

I only pointed the name servers at the dotster to them.

I guess, that means I can still go to dotster and point them to another hosting service?

If the contact information is all in your name, and only the nameservers are pointed to their servers, then you are OK. Just update the nameservers to point to a new host. I know of a flower merchant that I believe to be parasite free and perhaps they would be a match for you.

I am also curious about what merchant you are referring to that is claiming to be parasite free to recruit affiliates.

    Good Question ThMedia,

We would like to know who this merchant is to be aware of it in the future if you don't mind sharing it with us?

Name and shame, that's what I say!

I'll reiterate Moo's golden rule of domains.. always keep them separate from your hosting. They're basically the keys to your website. With those you can walk away from any host at any time without running the risk of being locked out.

    womanht:

You are correct, just log into your Dotster account and change the name servers for the domain.

If you just want to point it somewhere temporarily then try the free services of mydomain.com.

    Thanks everybody.

I register my domains through dotster's affiliate program. That way, I can write about my experience with your service on my site..

As for that merchant, they are one of those listed in morpheus list of flower merchants.

Not to name them yet as they want to know how morpheus is a parasite. I told them to come here. They will look deeply into the matter after Valentines day... They may be good guys for all you know...

I'm sure their understanding will clear up, AFTER they've reaped the swiped sales for the biggest flower holiday of the year--Valentine's Day!
