    Opportunity...
Hey everyone. One of my blogs is getting tons of traffic over the last few days, as it's showing top in google and yahoo. I made a post, very short, about a new ad campaign I saw on TV. All of sudden, BAM...

It's for a vertical that I can't (won't) get behind. Any ideas how to monetize it? I have no related sites or content. I am getting about 1000 visitors a day. Contextual? Contextual with limited relevancy? CPM?

    Thoughts?

Is there an anti-vertical you can push instead, perhaps with a second post? Without more info on what it is, we can't be of much help, and I also appreciate your reluctance to state what it is....

Hard to say without an idea of what the traffic is looking for when they hit your site.

Might try some semi-targeted general interest stuff if you can pigeonhole the demographic at all (men, women, old, young, active, etc).

I'd suggest Adsense, too. Should have been on the blog before the post to maximize the relevancy.

Absolutely so another post about the same or similar subject(set up your adsense before posting this time ). If it's that hot of a topic, you have a winner.

I wouldn NOT recmmend mentioning what the topic is here - you'll have thousands of sharks swimming lin a frenzy if you point out where the blood is. :-)

i agree with the others; adsense is probably the best route. maybe a text link ad if there is a related affiliate program.

Yup. What Rexanne said. Should have said that myself instead of just stating I know why you weren't

If they are just browsers, go with CPM + adsense

Kontera + Adsense usually gives me about $10 a day with traffic like that.

Unless they're coming to your site because they're pissed off about something you wrote about. In which case, you might only make a few cents.

Well, that was my recent experience anyway
