Where All The Domains Have Gone
Probably everyone has come up with an off the wall domain idea and checked only to find that it was already gone. Here without actually giving them a link is:
livecadaver(dot)com which is a auto redirects to uterinefibroidembolizationtruths(dot)com

    Anybody else?

I don't understand what point you are trying to make.

Not me. I never searched for live cadavers, so I never ran across this.

It is making me wonder why you were.

It's hard for me to comprehend that people buy stuff like that.

No point really. Haven't you ever had a weird domain idea that you thought was so far out that it would have to be available? All the other weirdos seem to beat me to them.

My title probably makes it look like I have a point.

My family has been without medical insurance the last few years. We have had cancer, open heart surgery, etc. If you ever experience free care in a University Hospital you will know my inspiration.

My intent was rather light hearted in starting this post.

    So was my reply.

And you're right. I do own a couple off the wall domains, but nothing with cadaver in it. Now that you mention it..... <*runs off to Godaddy...>

I once "knew" a guy online named Clement and he was engaged to a girl named Eileen. He wanted to buy a domain name "clementloveseileen.com"

I'm not sure where he looked that up but when he wanted to buy it, it was taken!! The moral of the story is be careful where you search domains.

I'd search for one on a registrar and buy it right away.

Use nslookup locally. Then nobody will see your search.

Interesting thread. i have long used "Disadvantages of Excessive Verbosity" as an example of a "weird" domain name.

    www.disadvantagesofexcessiveverbosity.com

I included the link because it is not monetized in any way - just one flash file to make it run and it has not changed in years. I think of it every few months, check and it's still there. Maybe my subconscious is telling me that I talk too much...

    AAARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Make it stop, Beachy, please make it stop!!!

Clicked on that darn link and it chased my cursor all over the screen. Triggered a virtual vertigo attach. (Virtualvertigoinoldguys.com? Hmm. Wonder if ... actually, I just checked and it IS available. I'd grab it, but what would I do with it?? )

Here's my gift to whoever wants it. It's available.

    shmuckinatruck.com

(I was inspired by an incompetent trucker who didn't check his mirrors before changing lanes and nearly ran me into a guardrail.)

Surely one of you geniuses can figure out how to monetize this. (I couldn't.)

I still have not made use of Ubunghole.com ..... it was going to be an awards site, where I sent out Bunghole awards and t-shirts to idiot celebrities of the week. Not sure how to monitize it, though!

If you are on a windows PC:

    Start
    Run
    Type" cmd
    hit enter
    type:
    nslookup google.com

or any other domain you are looking for. If it doesn't exist, it will tell you.

Much better than using a search at a registrar, where they record/sell the searches and snatch your ideas.
