[SAS] CookieHQ Leaks on Every Page
Man! I spent a full month adding all their products, and now he added Linkshare links on every page

    http://www.cookiehq.com/

So now that they're also an affiliate, I'm linking to a competitor rather then a merchant.

    Aargh!

If you need a cookie merchant try Dancing Deer. I believe their affiliate program is through Performics.

Their cookies are all natural and have won many awards. They are my favorite cookies!

Ouch, and it's a nice big box too. Merchants need to decide to be merchants or affiliates, they can't be both. And by linking to other *gift* merchants don't they understand they are cannibalizing themselves? They are showing their visitors that they are not confident that they have what the shopper is looking for. That will hurt their conversions.

I can't believe you put up Linkshare affiliate links all over your site!!!

    "I'm" an an affiliate - "you're" a merchant!

You're asking us to do all the work and incur all the expenses of attracting visitors for you, and then you send them off to Linkshare where YOU get the commission and we get stiffed??????

I've meta-refreshed all your links to go to xxx until I can swap them all out.

Now that you're an "affiliate", you should post that is your SAS introduction page so that other affiliates know they're linking to a competitor, rather then a merchant. Anything less would be deceitful on your part.

    Aargh!

How sad is it that this cookie merchant links to another cookie merchant (Mrs Fields)?

    LOL Mellie

    CookieHQ links to Mrs Fields

That's like Target linking to Wal-Mart!

I'll have some "suggestions" at Think Tank!

    The merchant responded:

The Linkshare links went up last night

They want to be known as a cookie resource site rather then a merchant

It's ok because amazon does it

They're there for PPCers who get to the site searching for genric terms like "men's gifts"

    Aargh. They don't get it.

No, they don't get it. And if they are a resource site, they are correct that they are no longer a merchant. That is, if they send links away. They can be a resource site without outbound links.

Why are they ppc'ing men's gifts to their cookie site? Someone needs to explain to them they need a second site.

One of my websites is a better cookie resource!

I still cannot see their logic in linking to another cookie company. Affiliate links on a "merchant" site doesn't make the "merchant" a resource, or at least not a valuable resource.
