Cazzie,

I think this was a scheduled downtime for an update. I think they're supposed to be back up at 2:00 AM Pacific Time.

There should be some new features, including the thing with the eBay update when they come back. Seems pretty hush hush. I hope it's worth it.

These new features probably will include a long dry spell (if this down time is like any other CJ down time). lol

Why don't they have a back-up site? Why should there ever be a "down time"? Second, what the heck do they update? The last couple of times they did an update I didnt observe any noticable improvements, or changes. Basically, another night after work where I don't get to continue my progession of making more web pages ($$$$$$$$)!

Good question Big Chuck. One probable answer:

THEY HAVE NO MONEY - PERIOD!

Not having multiple servers in multiple locations as a network provider is ridiculous to the extreme.

Just my opinion...

Yes they are up. And to my surprise by commissions are a lot higher than they were this morning. Hopefully they don't all get reversed.

same. able to login. no reports.

Was announced for some time... " 1. Scheduled Site Downtime Monday, Oct. 14. Read more."

CJ does seem to have a lot of downtime.

Though, the multiple server thing doesn't hold much water. IF they are making backend/infrastructure changes, redundant servers don't help much. Of course, tracking is not affected.

Big Chuck,

We take the site down when we need to migrate data into new structures. We cannot do this while you are changing data. Hence, the down time. A backup server would only help for static pages.

Tracking is not affected because we are not migrating the tracking servers. All tracking actions are logged to flat files. While the database is being migrated, we suspend the consumption of tracking logs. When the database comes up, the tracking logs are once again consumed (hence the delay in reporting data after scheduled down times).

Hope this helps.

David.

TH Media,

We noticed the bug in the product categories as well. We will try to put up another release this evening (without any down time).

David, one other thing that might be a bug or maybe not. When I did get a chance to check the transation report the sales were all out of order by date. Normaly they would show up in order starting with the oldest to newest sale. I clicked on the modified date link and it did reset them to the order of the 1st of the month down to the latest date of sale. I hope it is just a glitch because it is kind of a Pita to have to keep resetting it to get the right order. Just thought I would let you know in case.

Ssanf, its been going up and down all day. Keep trying and ya might catch it on the up swing.

SSanf,

Things are going great. My wife and I have added our first little elam to the world. We have a little girl who is now 4 months old.

Things at CJ are going swimmingly as we try to create the best solution possible.

All things considered, life is great.

Regards,
David.
