    Comma in SAS stats
    Hi guys,

Sorry if this has been answered here before but I couldn't find it by doing a search.

I was curious as to why I have been getting lots of listings in the "Today's Stats" section on SAS that show the last page clicked just as a ",".

Just not sure what this means.

    Thanks,
    Bettylou

SAS just didn't pick up the referring page for some reason. I get that sometimes too. Also Brian said in another thread about it:

"Some stat tracking done by affiliates uses redirects which cause referers to be broken... An un-intentional side-effect at times."

I also have experienced like this before. But according to me, it mostly happens when your link is directly typed/copied on the browser. Also it happens because of redirection or something like that!

I do have a redirect script, that must be it. Thanks a lot Trust, that makes sense. I was concerned that I had done something wrong with my links.

    Rexanne,
I am going to think that way too!

Thanks guys for all of the replies,
    Bettylou

    Not necessarily your script!

I have a site without any redirect script, and sometimes I get a lot of those "Comma in SAS stats" too.

So I would guess that any one of these spider-bots, (or others) are the one causing those fake clicks.

I don't recall seeing so many of these "comma referrers" in the past; I'd also noticed them recently, though perhaps it's just because I'm in the middle of launching several new projects that include lots of SAS merchant links.

I know that when I enter a URL directly into my browser, it shows up as a blank referring URL on SAS, not as a comma.
