I am just wondering who all is going to this symposium which is held upon a cruise ship for 4 days?

Who has went in the past and what kinds of things can you expect, etc?

Thanks all for the feedback and "stories"...

My husband and I are going.
Great chance to party with some of your partners.
Didn't get to go last year, got iced/snowed in here in Minnesota. Went the year before and had fun meeting lots of my "online friends".

The passenger list is posted here:

It would be nice to see more affiliates going. Good time to plan some strategies to fight off the crooks in the next year.
And with a few drinks, our creativity could really blossom. Good chance to make some battle plans. Plus, it is a tax writeoff!

    Connie,
I agree, would be nice to see more affiliates there. I'm still on the fence (talk about last minute). Looking over the passenger list, the agenda, and a few other things I'm not sure its adding up.

I wanted to go, but paying full price for my spouse just isn't worth it to me. I am planning on going to the LS symposium.

Have a good trip Connie. I was really looking forward to some warm weather.

Sorry for the second response, was trying to edit my first but I couldn't. My browser doesn't seem to like this forum (or vice versa).

Most of the agenda seems focused towards affiliate managers and merchants more than affiliates.

I don't see very many AM's or merchants represented that I have relationships with.

The cost seems high. It is not a lot of money, but, considering what it is, it seems like more than it should be. Even with the extras, having to pay near price for guests doesn't make sense; they aren't necessarily interested in the events. It sounds like the Internet access will be an additional fee as well, I originally was thinking that was included. Also, missing the $795 deadline, well, its principle.

Oh, and, did I read something about formal wear? LOL.

We really want to go, someone convince us.

Jungleland, FWIW- I believe your guest can attend at $795 instead of the full $995.

Yeah, after being in Minnesota all winter, I just need a vacation in warmer weather. It starts on my husband's birthday so I thought I would treat him.
I needed the tax deduction anyways. Look at it this way, which would you rather do, give the money to Uncle Sam or use it on yourself?
You can skip the formal dinner, there are other places to eat on the ship.
I do agree though on the spouse thing, if they aren't going to the meetings, they should just pay a straight cruise fee.
Even though you may not see people you have relationships with on the list, there is a lot to be gained in insight and knowledge from the neat people that will be there. You might make connections that could help your business even if you don't think so in advance.
