yeah, i always thought Google and FAST/AllTheWeb as having the best search, i don't like Overture getting there hands on it. Theres also a thread about this in the Search Engine Insight forum.

Now MSN has 2 choices :-

1, Buy the entire OV-ALT-FAST Combo
    or
    2, Buy Google ...

For those wondering how come Google will allow itself to get into MS hands , i want to say only one ...

WHOA! More big news on the search engine front! Sure glad I don't have time to do SEO much anymore. Makes me dizzy trying to keep up with all the changes

HMM the PPC market is going to blow up. I bet the people at altavista and Fast are confused.

    2 choices? Nahh.

    Choice #3: Roll your own.

Last time I checked, MSN seemed to be a Microsoft property, no? They've got the resources, and the foundation.

Deelz , MS always have the habbit of weight and watch before jumping into the party . They also usually buy succesfull technologies/companies... combine into a package and deliver using the mighty MS marketing machine Eg: Hotmail.com

Buying a existing SE with proven technology and brand/traffic is cheaper longterm for them than to develop their own .... Also your competition is minimized as you buy one of the competitor itself

Dmoz was bought out years back. They are owned by AOL/Time Warner.
